Scratched dashboard
Put a cardboard box in front sit and the corner touched the dash a little bit and left a mark on it. It is so annoying how quickly the dash scratches! Tried to buff it with Adams Polishes interior detailer but it didn’t help. Anyone has other suggestions to make it look a little less visible? Its not a deep scratch by any means

yeah detailer is just a light "solvent" to remove dirt. basically nice smelling water. plain water would achieve the same lol
the "white marks" are physical or mechanical damage damage. no "cleaner" can do anything to repair that. people think about cleaners and products wrong. think of falling off a motorcycle, getting road rash all over your body, then going home and trying to "repair" it with shampoo and conditioner.
i'd use the cleaner just as normal to erase any finger oils, dirt etc as a base to start mechanically blend the damaged/scratched area. that's the best you can do. my first ES had a mark on the dash from the FACTORY and i took it to the dealer and their master detailer guy spent 2.5 hours on it to blend it. the best he could do was make it super super faint. So just be careful around the dash. Luckily that part is VERY easily removeable so you can replace it probably fairly inexpensively or even better, i was thinking one day of taking it to a shop and having them wrap it in leather. that would look so good.

Easily the most inexcusable flaw in the ES350 and all other models that use the same scuffable dash material. Any time a passenger enters the car with a bag or package I move my arm in front of the dash to protect it. I constantly remind my wife about its susceptibility to irreparable scratching. Ridiculous.

Unfortunately this is the wrong venue to get on Lexus's radar. We are pissing in the winds here and it can be cathartic experience as misery loves company. Lexus won't address the issue unless they have enough complaints from their network of dealers and customers logging complaints with their corporate HQ.

Airing one's grievance in the forum isn't a way to get Lexus to be aware of the issue. This isn't an official channel to bubble up issues up to Lexus management. Clearly the fix isn't coming to current gen. The hope is it is early enough in 8th gen development cycle to implement the fix. Lexus can't fix if they aren't aware of the issue. If the issue gets a lot of attention and a big chunk of their customer base care about it it will increase the likely chance that Lexus will come up with a resolution.

Seeing certain mistakes that Toyota has made over the years including the melting dashboards, I think that there is a great reluctance on corporate's part to go back and correct issues unless, as Ionian states, through a class action lawsuit when they are forced. Seems to me that even that wouldn't have been corrected unless lawyers got involved and sued... There are numerous "lesser" issues such as our marked up dashboards that will never be addressed until maybe a new MY makeover. Android Auto is another where owners got screwed in their 2019's... Maybe the other manufacturers do things the same way.
