I believe if you can replace the US part with the Japanese part, only for the dash, the scratch issue can be resolved. but this is really bad. Lexus should surely have known this

Three words: melted Pringles lids. Being environmentally friendly the goal is to be able to park your worn out auto along the road and it will turn into worm food shortly thereafter. Do the Bentley owners suffer such indignities?

Though seriously, I haven't noticed this delicacy of the dash so I'm thinking of applying something that may work as a lubricant to the surface. Would really not like to stain the orange threads. Do these interior products for hard surfaces stain?

This issue goes all the way back to 2018 when I bought my 2019 ES. The detail specialist at the dealer said it was impossible to remove the marks after trying for an hour. I use a folded sun blocker for the wind screen and with putting it up and taking it down I made marks on the dash. This is soft cardboard with felt lining. So this defect has been going on since the start of gen 7 car manufacturing. My 2013 Japanese built ES had no issues with any kind of scratches or marks on the dash. My 2019 was built in Kentucky. I'm curious to see if Toyota changes the material with the next generation of ES cars after all the complaints.

Hopefully you won't need them but save yourself the trouble and money. None of them work... You can hide the scratch or scuff but it always reappears. Be happy you're not the other forum member whose kid vomited on his leather seats...

I can confirm that my 2022 RAV4 has the same problem, also my RX500h.

Default White streaks on Lexus RX 350 dashboard after cleaning

I have a 6 month old 2024 RX 350 Premium Plus and it had a small spot of something on it last month. I used a new microfiber cloth with just water and it left white streaks that would not go away. I took it in to my dealer and their detail guy sprayed Majestic Solution Super Green Stuff on a cloth and cleaned it, which ended up making it worse. I left and got so frustrated that I opened a ticket with Lexus Brand Engagement, and they sent me back to the dealer. After talking to the Service Mgr, Detail Mgr and their dashboard "fixer" guy, they admitted that they had seen it on RX's and ES's and others, so it's a known issue with the "pleather" used on the dashboard. They decided to re-dye my dashboard, at no cost to me. I got the car back today and it looks new again, but I'm still upset that Lexus has a dashboard that cannot be cleaned without streaking. To me it's a factory defect. I'll never touch mine again. If I get a spot, I'll take it to them and make them clean it. I asked Lexus Brand Engagement to report it as a defect.

First of all, if you let the dashboard pieces untreated, they will scratch more easily because there is no lubrication. Second of all if you dye them, they will be very hard to stretch.

Every time I clean my car, 2 to 3 times a week, I put a thin layer of Chemical guys sprayable leather, using an ultra soft cloth over all soft pieces of the dashboard. Keep in mind that I redyed the lower and the middle piece. They look brand new.
