Question hardwired a dashcam?

Hi all,

Has anyone here hardwired their dashcam? Which fuse did you hook it up to?

I have a blacksys ch-100b system and just recently redid the wiring because wiring label ssues with the external battery and dashcam itself. i used the 15a P/Outlet No1 for ACC and 25a D/L for the constant. The ground I used the bolt behind the brake pedal. Bolt uses 12mm socket. The bolt isn't on the pedal but behind above the footwell. If you look behind you'll see 3 bolts, two of which has a 12mm nut while between them is a black bolt.

Nice. I notice in your profile you have 2014 IS350. Is that still the case? I don't know if the location of the fuse box is same for 2019 ES300H.

I have hardwired Nextbase front and rear cameras. Process take around 30 minutes. Pretty simple.

Very nice. I haven't started the process yet. I can't seem to find the fuse box let alone how to access it on my 2019 ES300H.

See page 341, the "Checking and replacing fuses" section, in your Owner's Manual for the locations of the fuse boxes, There are three - two in the engine compartment and one on the driver's side instrument panel (on the lower left side under the trunk and fuel door opening buttons).

Have you looked into the Mirror Tap by Blendmount. I mounted my Valentine one with one and it could not be simpler. They even have mounts for most cameras.

I used this to tap into the mirrors to generate a USB port. I also taped into it for my radar detector.

Amazon Amazon

And one of these.

Amazon Amazon

Which one of the USB cables you will need will depend on where you mount the cam.

I have an ES 2019 and also plan to install front/rear Blackvue cams. It will be nice if you could post some step-by-step photos of how you actually access the fuse box. I can't seem to find a cover that can be conveniently opened to access the fuse box. Thanks
