When I call via voice command to Destination Assist, there is an error message "phone not connected" in the main display. However on the destination assist scree it states that the phone is connected. I have no problem in talking to Destination Assist customer service and they take my request and download the travel directions directly to my navigation screen. There appears to be a conflict in the navigation system in that it states my phone is not connected when it is actually is working fine. The dealer states that the error message is a problem with my iPhone 8 and Apple customer service states that it can't be a problem with the phone as it actually connects to Destination Assist. Han anybody had this problem and how was it resolved.

Have the exact same issue with my ancient Samsung Galaxy S5, so it is not unique to your Apple model.

I've made a list of issues to talk over with the dealer when I go in for my 5,000 mile service, and this is one of them.

None are significant, but just minor annoyances.

I'm not sure I even understand Destination Assist. It sounds like it's just connecting me with a person that will look up directions for me and send them to the car. I can't imagine people paying for that so I must be misunderstanding the feature.

When we travel outside our normal travel area, we use it frequently. Once you start, it's a lot easier to push the button/call and get the hotel's address, and some suggestions for places to eat, or museums, etc. Granted, all those things can be done ahead of time, but then you have to manually enter the destinations yourself.

First world issue for sure. I doubt we'll pay for it after the free trial expires.

When you press the Nav Screen Destination Assist or the overhead Safety Connect "SOS" button you are using the
cars built-in 3/4 watt phone. Your 1/3 watt device is "disconnected" while the microphone and speakers are being used
by the cars phone. Once the Destination Assist or Safety Connect call is complete your paired device will reconnect.
Normal operation.

Do you get the error message "phone not connected contact Lex.com"? I have subsuquently been informed by the dealer that Destination Assit calls use an internal phone and not my iPhone. That's fine but the message should be more like "phpne temporaly disconnected" and not instruct you to contact Lexus .com.

I understand but why the misleading error message? By previous car was a 2016 RC 350 and I did not get the error message whine calling Destination Assist.

Kindly post a photo of the expanded error message, I have only ever seen those that are like your 2016.
The one phone related new feature that was introduced with your 2019 ES is the Lexus Enform App Suite 2.0.

Our cars know where the gas stations are, your phone knows the price of fuel at them. The display
of a route is often proceeded by a banner that says "Route optimized by the cloud". This enhanced nav
is supplied by our phones. The system is pretty insistent on getting us to download and run LEAS 2.0 while driving.
Are you running the app on the phone that is connected?

Thanks for the photo, confirmed this with 2019 ES's here. Not every Lexus driver has found Club Lexus to answer
questions and it appears that this change in the dialog box is just to guide those with your question back to Lexus.
Would not take the wording to be misleading, we have agreed that our phones are disconnected while the cars
phone is operating. Perhaps they could have written "visit Lexus.com or Clublexus.com!"

The basic ID of the cars have changed over the different Generations of Bluetooth: early Lexi had the
default name Handsfree, that became Car Multimedia and lately you get Lexus ES.
