I'm on 17.2 with no texting carplay issues in my 2024 w/ML.
I just updated to 17.3.1 yesterday and now my iPhone won’t connect like it was before the update. I need to go look at some settings when I get a chance.

No worries. I did the update to 17.3.1 and now I’ve got issues. 😂

Hmm that's kind of scary, I see my iphone has downloaded 17.3.1 and was ready to install it, I turned off automatic updates until I see how this plays out for you having issues with it. Let us know if you find a solution, until then I'm staying at 17.2.1

I just found another thread on this same topic. I asked the question about this on it. Join to see if I get any advice that works.

I was wondering if anyone knows if this issue has been resolved?

I haven’t explored this since my iPhone connectivity was not affected. I would suggest installing IOS 17.4. They reported some updates to CarPlay functionality, so they were clearly fiddling with automotive interoperability.
Were you able to find a fix for this this issue? I am having the same problem. Its super frustrating

I have a very frustrating issue, I can’t text or respond to texts with CarPlay. I have spoke with Lexus and Apple and both are saying the problem is the other. Yesterday there was an update from Apple. I was hoping that would correct the issue it did not. Also, I hooked up a USB cable to the car to see if that helps and all that cable does is charge the phone. Nothing with communication in the car. Does anyone else have this issue because I am really frustrated.

I just updated my iPhone with a new update. I only tried it twice since the update and it worked better but not perfect. I am not sure if it is fixed because sometimes in the past it worked intermittently.
My car play texting on my 2024 NX quit working in November.

Dealership changed out my entire radio system. Still doesn’t work and they don’t know why. I’m running latest update and a brand new iphone 15. It quit while I had iPhone 11. Have tried every tutorial and basically the dealership doesn’t have an answer so they blame Apple. Crying shame Lexus can’t keep up with Honda and Nissan technology. First and last Lexus.

after speaking with Lexus, corporate and Apple corporate, Apple agreed it was their problem. I don’t understand why this issue cannot be resolved. However, thank you for your information to me that confirms. It’s an apple issue.

I think if Apple knows it’s an issue it will get resolved. I have an iPhone 14 Pro with the latest updates and it connects every time I get in my car. I was having issues earlier this year but no more!

The problem I have had with my iPhone and Lexus ES 350 is I’d asked to to text somebody the name would come up and would get all mixed up. I called Apple no solution and I called the dealer no solution by searching the Internet, I found out, drive your car with the radio on push the radio power button down for 10 seconds. You should your system reboot on the screen. This will reset your infotainment system and your texting should be good to go.
By resetting this way, you do not lose any information or settings. Hope this works for you.
Appreciate your help, however, I have been in the auto electronics business for over 30 years, I know cars and electronics. I have spoken to Lexus and Apple, both heard my issue and both agree there is an issue, however, both are blaming the other !!!
