Insurance has yet to get back to me. Shop quoted $24k in damages. Actual cash value is around $33k so I'm right on the border of 75% damage to ACV.
The side curtain airbag on the passenger side deployed as well as the airbag on the A-pillar, side airbag on the front passenger seat and rear passenger seat. Four total. Front seat and rear seat back will need to be replaced. Shop also quoted replacement of the headliner.
No visible damage to the axle or suspension other than the front outer tie rod which is bent. Car is still drivable but with the tie rod bent it drives wonky. I've borrowed another vehicle while I wait for the insurance to reply.
It breaks my heart but it was completely my fault. I was at a 2-way stop sign and didn't see the oncoming car. I was cited for failure to yield.
Yeah, everyone was ok. It was a fairly low-speed impact. And with it being snowy, I sort of just slid into a snow drift.
$24k does seem extreme but I went through the quote and it makes sense. $11k for the interior alone. Complete replacement of two seats and a headliner. Four airbags at about $1800 each. Sensor recalibration and check - everything is freaking out on the instrument cluster including collision avoidance, headlight aiming, parking sensors, etc.
I'm hoping it's not totaled because I already spent the $$$ on depreciation. It was nearly new when I purchased it. Although now there are a good number of luxury and UL 21's and '22's in the $30k's which is the route I'd go if it got totaled out. I definitely wouldn't spend $50k+ on a '24.
Sort of unrelated but while looking for potential replacements, I came across this gem. It checked all the boxes. I'm not a huge fan of the F-Sport but it has the ML system, HUD and Triple Beam Headlights. Very rare to find all three of those on an F-Sport. And with only 4k miles @ $39K? I figured there must be something wrong with it. According to Cars.com it's also been on the dealer lot since October. They priced it at $46k to being with and have dropped it $7k over three months. Then I got to the interior...... Take a look.

The estimate is rarely the final bill as there always seems to be hidden damages which will throw it into totaled category. As close as this is I would want it totaled. Very possible you would get this back and tires wear uneven rest of it's life. Also the term nothing like factory is real.
I don't hate it. Kind of remindful of '60s Kalifornia Kustom. At least it's different. Showrooms have enough monotone grey and monotone black these days, inside and outside. And really, you only want white if it's in vinyl as this is, so it's not hopeless to keep clean.
That's a factory option?? I thought someone reupholstered.
With having the all the options along with the odd combo. it makes me think it was a custom order from the factory. All factory options but not something I'd think Lexus would make very many of. Never know.
