Default Muffled Pops Door Stop Check

Hello! First post, first Lexus. Absolutely ecstatic with the car, only regret is not purchasing one earlier.

There is one thing that is annoying me...a lot. To the point where I think about it whenever I get in or out of the car. I was wondering this noise from the door stop check is normal. I have had everything from a cheapo Volkswagen as my first car to Ford/GMC/Nissan/Mazda and never heard this.

That's normal. I was concerned about it too, until I tested other models and heard the same thing, both in my wife's RX and other ES models I test drove. It's just the sound of the rollers going over the indents of the arm-thing...whatever it's called

Thank you, sounds like it's a normal thing then. I just found it suspicious that Lexus goes through all this R&D for a nice quiet ride and would overlook the door. I love this car though. I used to enjoy damaging ear drums with a good old V8, but...things change. I've gotten older, my back hurts when I wash my car and I get a headache if my vehicle is loud. I can see why the ES line still does incredibly well in todays day and age where SUV & Crossovers are taking over the world.

I plan on keeping this beauty with the 2GR FKS for a long time. A little off topic but, here is my maintenance plan, any additional maintenance points from long term owners would be appreciated too!

Oil Change / Tire Rotation: 5k or 6mo
Trans Fluid Change: 60k or 6yr
Coolant: 50k or 5yr
Spark Plugs: 120k or 10yr
Brake Fluid: 4yr
Battery: 4yr

Nothing a little bit of WD40 can't fix jk? but wouldn't hurt to try. idk, I've never heard it on mine.

I sent that video to a service advisor, but still haven’t heard back. I only have about 340 miles on the car. There is slight marring on the top of the door stop check.

I have had two ES 350s and driven countless others—a valid question and my initial concern as well, but a consistent behavior in my experience.

This is normal for an ES. If it's unacceptable might I suggest you go check out Mercedes or Bentley.

I'll leave it to others to confirm this, but I believe your spark plug interval is not in keeping with Lexus requirements to change them every 60,000 miles.
