Default Door Check Assembly

My front doors have bad door check assembly and I wonder if anyone else has had bad door check assembly. Noticed this is a common issue with most of the Toyota lineup and some older Lexus but I never thought the newer Lexus would have issues.

I tried to search but really nothing came up for 4th Gens so wonder if this is a common issue or I just got the luck of the straw. Dealership wants $800 to do both doors but wondering if anyone else had a fix for this issue.

Would that be considered the door stop mechanism near the hinges that stops the door from swinging open too far?

LOL I never heard of a door check assembly till my Lexus. Didn't even know it could go bad.

This is the door check assembly. Its the hinge part from the door to the body. Basically my door makes a popping/clicking noise when you open and I knew the hinge was bad and Lexus confirmed that it was the door check assembly.
