Default Body Plugs - new ES300h

Hi, Just picked up my 2023 ES300h on Wednesday of last week. Discovered body plugs in the glovebox. Should I put these in myself? Contact the dealer? Worry that I've been driving around in the rain / getting a car wash etc? Also, not sure if I'm just experiencing buyer's remorse, but the seats seem a little smaller and less comfortable than my previous Hyundai Sonata. How is the possible in a Lexus? Maybe I just need time to adjust?

Nope. Not a matter of time. Extraordinarily un-padded seats!

Same. My leather seats are not comfortable on long trips. I use a pad when driving an hour or more.

I use a seat cushion for longer road trips because the Lexus seat cushion is too hard IMHO. I sat in the Hyundai Ioniq 6 recently and was impressed with the seat comfort, it was much better.

Put the pligs underneath or visit the dealer. It’s the PDI job to do that.

Ouch, not keeping pace on luxury with the Ioniq 6 isn't a great look for the ES. There's an Ioniq 6 at the dealership near my house, I really gotta test drive it (out of curiosity, not really considering buying one).

The Ionic 6 came 3-4 years after the ES.

Comfortable leather seats weren't invented in the last 4 years

True, but somehow manufacturers across the board have managed to make hard seats for years now. Soft cushy seats are so '70's and old man style. But, hey, aren't we supposed to be grateful? After all, that, like oversized tires and hard rides, makes it "sporty" and that's what we're all supposed to want! Well, at least as rushed by the automotive media.

This take I do agree with. I actually like responsive, sporty handling. But give me my comfy seats, small tires, and cabin insulation *please*!

OP: hard seat bottoms are a common complaint on the 7ES. Both my 2021 ESes had hard seats. Strangely, they were comfortable at first, then after 6 months the padding flattened out and got hard. This is evidenced by pretty much all 7ES seat bottom material becoming wavy showing the padding underneath is not supporting the material on top. Your seats will "wave out" at the 6 month mark. Look for wavy material where your butt goes.

Seats can be both sporty and comfortable. For example the 3IS seats (F Sport) are fantastic. They have strong bolsters on the side AND are comfortable/soft.

My Y seats are very sporty/bolstery as well, yet VERY soft marshmallow like on the bottom. the greatest seats ive experienced. i always look for excuses to sit in them.

Helpful to hear this, I guess the good news is that it's not really an intentional choice by Lexus, the bad news is that it's (potentially) a quality issue.

Yep the F Sport seats are amazing compared to the normal ones especially on road trips. I’m considering doing an expensive swap for F Sport lower cushions in my car.

Also someone commented on advancement over the years, I’m over 50 and wife and I have had a lot of cars. Best seats ever for long drive comfort were on a 1998 Volvo S70 we had.

As someone said, you know comfortable seats weren't invented in the past 4 years. I think the 6ES even had more comfortable seats. The (now) old generation RX seats does. So we know Lexus is more then capable at offering good comfortable seats.

Since the IS came up in the seat comfort discussion -- how is the cabin insulation and sound deadening in the IS compared to the ES? Is there any argument to get an IS over an ES if you mostly care about luxury?
