Pre-collision braking system
Has anyone had the pre-collision braking system actually engage on their ES350 While driving...as in Rear End type situation...
Of course I've had my 'BRAKE' warning symbol/chime go off (I have it set to most sensitive setting)
But has anyone actually had this vehicle SLAM on the brakes to prevent a collision and if so, how did it work for ya?

Starts at post #12.
This actually does not address my question at all.
I am asking about while driving...what many car companies call CMB (collision mitigation braking)
As in...if a car stops short in front of you and you do not realize it engages the brakes.
Has anyone experienced this yet?
(Incidentally, I do 95% city driving and have had numerous times where I have had the system engage when backing up near a plant or a pole...or when it thought a person was behind me...or I left the bumper guard on which tripped the system, of course)

I haven't had experience in my 300h yet, but experience from my old 2015 TLX Advance with a similar system, it is quite jarring. The brake pedal seems to lock up and doesn't press all the way, the seatbelt tightens up, and it sounds absolutely horrible. Sometimes there were false reads, but I got used to how the car read the road/obstacles and adjusted my driving. Again, I have yet to experience it with the 300h, but I am under the assumption it would react very much the same.
When I park my car the auto brake feature for parking is quite a jarring stop as well. I'm considering disabling it. Because of the length of the car, I have to park fairly close in the front and having the car brake for me when I'm already monitoring the parking sensors is quite annoying.

Other than that, it kicked in "unwantedly " numerous of time where I am backing and there are people waking behind, toward where the car will backing to, of course I know it's no where close to them, Lexus said whatever I'll brake for you and slam the brake. I learned that and every time I backing up, if the backing sensor is beeping because there is car or people behind, I wait until the beep went away before continuing LOL
My experience is rather negative as the car makes the loudest and most annoying noise when the brakes act on themselves. I appreciate the technology and safety but I don’t remember my previous RX making that awful noise.

It just occurred to me though--I'm writing about parking here...that's an entirely separate system from PCS....so I could disable the parking and still have pre-collision. I likely won't because I really like the idea of a car that prevents me from backing into a person.
Our ES and RX behave the same way. Loud scream and slams on brakes. Works well especially backing out of shopping center spots with limited visibility.
I am also used to sports cars with zero nanny features.
Born and raised NYC👍
It's engaged on me a few times. One time I briefly looked away to change the radio station when cars ahead of me suddenly stopped, good ol ES300h was on high alert and braked for me. it is jarring. the other times it was where I was starting to or about to brake anyway. It's like having a passenger with a brake pedal, except that passenger is wired all the time.
These features (AEB, pedestrian detection etc) IIRC were mandated on all new cars as of 2017/2018. Imagine all the lives they've saved that we'll never know, including your own! As older cars are weeded out over time, we'll eventually get to a point where most if not all cars have AEB and accidents are greatly eliminated or mitigated.

How times have changed...except both sound systems cost a rather large amount of money for a sound system
