Default 2023 order update

I ordered a 2023h UL last week. Dealer took order and is trying because of a battery problem with a 2018 es300h I bought from them. 2023 ES300h UL will be delayed for appx 6 months due to an upcoming transportation strike

Even without the strike an accurate timeline for delivery is hard to tell right now, unfortunately. Hopefully the strike will be resolved quickly, but I have read that anyone working in transportation right now is hurting and unhappy.

Well that sucks. I have been holding off for a 2023 ES350 UL. Guess I will be waiting.

That will make us existing ES owners' values even more. broken records but car prices show no signs of improvement. i saw a Camry hybrid selling for 41k. and people buy them too. that's very close to my car's price after discounts.

Civics? 40k as well. LOL

MOST Civics i've seen in socal.. in the 35-38k range.. but a couple in the 40+ range.

Looks like the strike will be averted so hopefully the 2023s will make it in by end of year.

I just called 4 different Lexus dealers and only 1 so far will accept a 2023 ES 350 special order.

More useful for SUVs/Crossovers where you load up the hatch impeding rear visibility.

More 2023s showing up on Cars.com. A couple F-sports but still no Ultra Luxurys.

The dealer took in my order for 2023 for the UAE prestige model. We don't have ultra-luxury here, unfortunately. The paper work I received was just for the deposit and said nothing about the car. It says for cars or services purchase and the payment. so weird. I don't know what I have ordered

If you don't have a mutually signed buyer's order along with a build sheet when providing your deposit, that could be a red flag. Based on the info. you've given, there is no guarantee that the car will be yours when it arrives. It's not uncommon to not have an assigned VIN yet as it's likely not been assigned to the dealer, especially based on the scarcity of info you've been given. In the north american market there is no special ordering due to market conditions, so most are waiting on allocations to be assigned and then attaching deposits to those vehicles. It may be different where you are but I would want more certainty. Once an allocation to the dealer is made I would ensure I had an OTD selling price negotiated. This is excluding any incentives or knowing the exact financing arrangements, which won't happen until you actually take delivery. Incentive and financing programs can and do vary monthly.
If your gut is telling you something isn't right, I'd go with that. Get some answers or ask for your deposit back.

Yes, that was all I could get. with a UL. Whatever it has on it is OK. Every option is good. When they get the allocation I will get the VIN. With a friend we both were able to get the same promise.
With a deposit, we are supposedly top of the wait list. My local dealer has 9 2023 cars, none has ML system. Only base model and F Sport .

Mark Levinson chip shortages are the likely cause for the lack of certain inventory.
