Default Lexus APP

I recently took my car into a certified Lexus dealership for the 35,000 mile service. I’m not sure when it started but for whatever reason on the Lexus APP I am getting a notification my trunk is open. My trunk is not open and I opened and closed the trunk a few times. The red notification that the trunk is open isn’t going away. I’ve never had this happen before. Any ideas on how to fix that ? Also , what’s everyone’s thoughts on the new APP design? I can’t stand it. I loved the old one and don’t know why they changed it. The new one seems to have less features too. For example I’m pretty sure the old app would notify you if you left an interior light on. The new one sure doesn’t.

It's not just you, I saw that as well (Trunk open) in my Lexus App starting a few days ago. Ha I thought the same thing as you - maybe a sensor was going out on my car.

If you and I both see this, others probably do as well. Which means that Lexus' software development team pushed out a bug that they need to go and fix.

This bug came along with the latest update. I get Toyota is slow to adopt technology but this is inexcusable. This app is so buggy it's unbelievable.

For past 2+ weeks I have been getting message about technical difficulties on tire pressure on both my Lexus app as well as my wife's Toyota app. Is anyone else getting it as well?

Re: the interior lights, even it it doesn’t show in the app, the car will shut off all interior lights automatically after 20 minutes in order to preserve the battery. (About page 274 in the manual.)

I get that on BOTH apps that I have on the Lexus app for my new 2022 ES350 UL and also in the Toyota app for my new 2022 Avalon Limited. They both say for both vehicles that there’s some sort of technical difficulties for the tire pressure. This has been going on now constantly on the app for the last 3 to 4 weeks for both vehicles.

Luckily I seem to have avoided all of these error messages on my 22 UL. There was a pop-up window on my phone this morning that said, "She users might receive a false notification that their trunk is open. We are actively seeking a resolution and apologize for the inconvenience."

I got the same exact pop-up window for the trunk too. What’s going on with these Toyota and Lexus apps? Why is it taking so long for Toyota and Lexus to fix the problem? Is there a shortage of technicians or something?

Lexus is not the best when it comes to tech. The app isn’t that great to begin with, it’s usability dropped with the redesign and it will take years to iron out the bugs and have a top notch app product.

Maybe I’m a bit bias because before the Toyota Lexus app I had Tesla for 6 years and their app was a thousand times better. It was more responsive, had lots more features, easier to find and use it, etc. Toyota should team up with Tesla again to develop the app but not team up when it comes to vehicles or powertrains.

App from most traditional auto manufacturers tend to be crappy across the board and not just isolated to Toyota. They are playing catch up to Tesla. It maybe a good time to poach some talents as Tesla are laying off workers.

Mine hasn't had issues. Checked it now and all windows and doors are closed and locked. But I did get the notification from Lexus saying the app may be wonky.
