Default Plastic Door Sill Cladding

2020 ES. Anyone know what kind of plastic this is? I had a little boo-boo. The crack is not visible but bonding it would make the part stronger. Tried Super Glue, no good. In my experience, Super Glue is incredibly strong on some plastics and totally useless on others. I am thinking it is abs or maybe polyurethane. Thanks.

Just asking if you know what kind of plastic is used for the sill cladding. Not sure why that needs pictures.

It's just that photos help in identifying what it is and where it is...

the way your post is worded implies you are referencing a photo. "do you know what kind of plastic this is?"

and yeah... a photo would help as i have no clue what you're talking about.

I am talking about the lowest piece that runs from front wheel well to rear wheel well.

Not sure why it's called a rocker panel but I think that's what you're referring to... Gotta be honest here, I wouldn't have known without the photo... I would look into a product JB Weld.
They make various adhesives for various compounds. I have used JB Weld on my Corvette which is polyurethane.

GOOD LUCK...

Yeah, I could not find it in Lexus parts look-up. It runs up continuously to cover sill which is why I called it sill cladding. Do you know what it is made from?

I don’t see a crack but I would highly recommend you remove the plastic trim, rough up the surface from the back, and use a two-part epoxy spread around that area to make a very strong permanent repair, while not affecting the outside painted area. I’ve used that procedure for multiple automotive plastic repairs in the past. JB weld normal stuff is inappropriate but JB weld is a brand only, they do make an epoxy suitable for plastic.

The crack is under the wheel well liner. It is where the rocker clad terminates with a 90° return. The fasteners hold it in place but it will be stronger if I can repair the crack.

I use the JB Weld two part epoxy on plastic, metal, mufflers with high heat, etc. Once it cures it's like steel...

Look at a plastic welder on Amazon along with an epoxy and you should be good to go.

that sounds incredibly standoffish. Members are trying to give a more specific answer.

Did some more searching. I think it is Toyota’s version of PP. It probably would weld ok if you had the right rod. But, I would more likely bugger it up than make a decent repair. There are fasteners on each side of the 90° return so it is fairly stable. You most likely would not notice the damage unless you knew it was there. Think I will just leave it alone. Thanks to all for responding.

Default Rocker Panel Repair

I know my repair was not where yours is but the left rocker panel on my '13 ES got cracked just ahead of the wheel well opening. It did show as I spotted it when I washed the car. It weakened it making it vulnerable to further damage. I got out my trusty pipe strap and cut off a few inches of it and jacked the car up. I then drilled some holes on the under side, pulled the back part up tight and fastened it with self tapping screws. I could still see it because I knew it was there but when I traded it for a '17 they did not notice it.
