Default 92 ES door problem

Today, my friend went to get back into my car after stepping out, and the front passenger door would not open from the outside. It opens from the inside, the lock mechanism seems to be in working order, but the door will not open from the outside. When I'm listening to music I can hear something rattling around in the door. Does anyone know what might have broken off/how expensive a repair on something like this would be?

Thanks a lot,

Colin

I had this happen on my 95. The rod linkage from the handle to the actual door latch popped off at the handle. You can pull the door panel off, which isn't too much trouble, and see if yours did the same thing. The linkage is a ***** to get back on, small skinny hands would help. A small plastic piece on the linkage that snaps to the door handle broke, which was the cause. I happened to have one laying around off another door handle assembly.

hope this helps.

Thanks a lot! That sounds like it might be the problem. I'll give it a shot when I get a chance and let you know how it goes.
