Default Spare Tire

I miss the '07 Full Sized Spare Tire Lexus provided back then. My new '21 I see now only includes a small temporary spare.

But does anyone know if this spare is still linked to the tire pressure warning system? ie- do you still have to remember that if a tire warning light comes on at it could be from the trunk spare? This used to be a great mystery in the early years of my '07 ownership before I learnt that the spare at least then was linked to TPWS.

All I can tell you is that the TPMS will indicate which of the four mounted tires is low if the system is triggered. I never realized the spare could have a sensor.

It may not in recent years. That's what I'm trying to find out.

My guess is no or there would be something in the display? Only four MOUNTED tires there.

Also: the spare’s air pressure should be much higher than the four non-mini tires, so the tire warning light would have to know the correct non-mini/mini differential in order to function properly, and I can’t imagine that gen7 (or any gen) has this capability.

I didn't think there was a transmitter in the mini spare.

My 04 RX had a sensor in the spare, but it was a full size spare. I learned this the hard way as it had a warning on the dash yet all four on the ground were fine! I agree with those that don't believe the mini-spares have sensors.
