Question Tinting Front and Rear Emblems

Hey guys! So I was thinking about tinting the front and rear emblems on my 19' ES350 Luxury, but I wanted to ask you guys about something. Is it fine to tint the front emblem? Like is there a radar or any sort of sensor located behind the front emblem that could be affected by a tinted emblem or there's nothing like that?

I'm pretty sure there are no electronics in either the front or rear Lexus emblem.

If there aren't then that makes things much easier. Only reason I was asking is because I had a 19' Infiniti QX50 and one of the guys at the dealership told me that the radar/sensor is behind the emblem. I don't know if he was right or not, but that's what led me to think that maybe the ES also has electronics behind the emblem. Thanks though!

I believe there is a radar sensor in the front emblem.

Instead of guessing and possibly getting incorrect information, why not just call or stop into the dealer and ask?

The sensor for the radar cruise control is located behind the front emblem. This information is in the manual.

Okay, so that means that there is a radar behind the front emblem. So, now my question is that do you guys think that if I wrap the front emblem with a dark window tint film, will it interfere with the radar?

Probably so. It becomes disabled from ice buildup.

Hmm so do you have any suggestions on how to blackout the front emblem then? I thought of wrapping it with tint film because it would darken the emblem, but still show it to some degree (wrapping it black would make the Lexus logo completely disappear). But again, if I can't tint the emblem, got any ideas on how I could darken the front emblem.

That would be a question fir the dealer. I would think a ceramic tint may be ok, but I would avoid metallic. Ask the dealer. You could experiment by putting a piece of the tint over it temporarily somehow and checking it out for a few days.

Embarrassed?? Lmao why would I get the car in the first place if I were embarrassed to display the logo. I'm just trying to go for a blackout look, which is why I'm tinting the emblems to get them darker.

I would definitely avoid a metallic tint, and I'll get some ceramic tint if needed. But do you think that regular headlight/taillight tint film would work? I found a thread on this forum where someone was asking the same question about tinting the emblem for their 4th gen GS, but I'm not sure if whether or not that car had electronics behind the emblem. They used headlight/taillight tint for the emblem.
