Default 2021 ESh UL on order

After a 10 year absence, I will be back on CL with questions (after my test drive, probably many questions) and comments. While owning many of my previous Lexus, I learned a lot from this forum and hope to continue in the future. I currently own a '19 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring, which I still enjoy driving. It has several features I will miss on my ESh, like "walk-away locking" and adjustable suspension. Over the 2 years of ownership and 14,000 miles, I averaged 47.1 mpg and have routinely saw a trip avg. of over 50 mpg. I had planned on replacing it with a 2021 Accord Hybrid Touring, but in their marketing wisdom, Honda added 19" wheels to the Hybrid Touring model from 17" wheels and the EPA mileage dropped from 48/48/48 to 44/41/43. The wheels do look better, but they took too much of a gas mileage toll for me, plus they eliminated the choice of interior colors to only black. Having watched many Youtube reviews of the ESh, I became convinced it was the best replacement for me. I contacted my longtime sales rep at the local Lexus dealer and set up an appointment to drive an ESh UL. He asked if I wanted him to join me on the test drive or take it alone. Of course I chose the latter. I was instantly amazed at the silence and the comfortable interior. Not that the UL is inexpensive, but it felt more expensive than its price tag suggests. So I said "YES" and it is scheduled to be built on Oct.28. Atomic/Chateau is the color combination and its MSRP is $55,480. I do have a question that I couldn't find an answer to in the Owner's Manual I downloaded, or on CL with a search. Does it have the Remote Start function on the Key Fob? I am probably the 1 person on Earth without a smart phone and I do use that key fob function a lot on my Accord.

Sorry for the lengthy intro. The first of my 11 Lexus was a 1993 SC300 with a straight 6 and manual transmission. Wish I still had it today. Looking forward to participating in CL again. Thanks to all who supply the info, suggestions and replies.

Yes. Keeping in mind that the car has to be locked in order to activate remote start, I believe you press lock twice and then a third time and hold for several seconds. I typically use a smart phone so I may have the number of presses mixed up (meaning you may need to hold on the second press...). Oh, and I do know one other person without a smartphone so there are at least two of you out there.

Doug is correct, 3 presses on the lock button will do it... Free RS ends after one year... GOOD LUCK with the new wheels...

bc6152 was correct...for the 2016 through 2019 model years. Now nearly all of the formerly
1 yr trial period features are complimentary for 3 years! Key fob Remote Start and the Smart Phone
Lexus App is now good for 3 years, Dynamic Navigation (cloud based updates to road conditions) is
also for the 36 months. Safety Connect, the car based phone also. Service Connect which is
the car condition notification set up is good for 10 years as were the 2018, 19 and 20"s.

I finally took delivery of my ESh UL yesterday...Amazing car. I tried the remote start function on the key fob several times, but didn't get the reaction I expected. Instead of starting the car, it opened all windows and moonroof. I did have that function turned on by the Lexus tech, but using the unlock button, not the lock button. The unlock button does open all windows and moonroof as it supposed to do. I sent an email to the Tech Specialist at my dealer and hope to get an answer shortly.

I believe it has to be registered with Lexus (such that the app will also work) before you can remote start it via the button on the remote. Has this been accomplished yet?

Please don't tell anybody. I'm afraid the authorities will confiscate my driver's license. There are ridges separating the various buttons on the key fob. (Here comes the fear of losing my driver's license.) My microwave has this setup where there are physical buttons that are labeled above the buttons (ridges). In trying to push the ridges on the key fob, I was activating the function below, hence the unlock button for the lock button. There I admitted it. It's OK to flame me because I deserve it. Except for a lack of cubby holes to store things in the console and elsewhere, my ESh remains perfect even though it was built in Kentucky. It is me that needs reprogramming.

I'm going from a 2018 Honda Accord Touring and am purchasing a 2020 ES300h. I absolutely LOVE my walk-away locking feature! I'm going to miss that BIG time!

Agree with you about the "walk-away lock" feature. I will also miss the ease of using the touch screen. But on the other hand, the ESh is in another league for luxury, comfort and style. I just have to remember to lock the doors. (Also miss the capless fuel filler, not that I put fuel in it that often).

I hear you on the capless fuel filler cap. This will be my first Lexus and first luxury vehicle, so I'm excited to see what the experience will be like!

No worry the Remote Services will warn you about unlocked doors and you can just lock it within the app.
