Fuel Pump Recall
My take away from reading that document and other media outlets is that hybrids are not included in the recall. Yes, some hybrids share the same fuel pump but because of the failsafe mode, they are excluded from the recall.
I had an S-class with a similar feature they called it "limp mode". The transmission was causing this and the dealer couldn't find the issue for about 3 months. When it went into limp mode all I had to do is pull over and shut off the engine then restart it. While in limp mode the vehicle ran fine and if it wasn't for the indicator stating limp mode was active I wouldn't even know there was an issue. I would imagine Toyota's failsafe mode will be similar.
I decided to do some "science" over the weekend and test how it would feel to drive the vehicle with the engine shut off. While driving at about 30 mph on an empty road I held the start/stop button for 2-3 seconds which turned off the engine and to my surprise, it was very easy to control the vehicle. My assumption was that with the engine off it be very difficult to steer but that wasn't the case at all. I was able to pull into an empty parking lot and even park the vehicle all while the engine was off. I feel very confident that if the engine happened to shut off at highway speeds I wouldn't have an issue pulling over to the emergency lane.

So I am looking at a 2019 ES350F USB with red interior. Wife will not have any other color. It is not CPO and not at a Lexus dealership. I have seen the letter from Lexus telling dealers not to sell these cars. My question is it legal to sell a car under a safety recall? This car is 650 miles from me. I would have to fly and drive it back?
Called my dealer today. Confirmed my auto has the recall,, but still no fix identified. 3 months and no fix??????? THIS IS TERRIBLE.
I was told enterprise will provide at no charge a loaner. Do not know what kind of auto.

The new fuel pumps are out there as I had my LS500 fixed last week. But the Parts Mgr at my local dealer said that the pumps are being sent in a certain order by Lexus model as they are different for each one.
Yep mine is the ES and clearly my dealer doesn't have access to the part so far.
