Default Why Does My Car Ding Sometimes?

Sometimes when I shut my car off and am leaving, the car dings repeatedly. It does this about once every 10 times I leave the car. When I close the door, it stops. When I check the (old) remote app, it says everything is OK.

I guess it's trying to warn me of something, but I can't figure out what.

I notice that every now and then. Same sound it makes if you leave a window open.

Right. When I first got the car, it made the dinging sound every time I got out of the car. But the dashboard and the app said a window was open. I opened that window and closed it, but the dinging didn't go away. It rained a couple of times, but there was no leak. My plan was to ask the dealer the next time I went in.

Finally, I opened all 4 windows all the way and closed them. The sound went away except for 1 in 10 times problem with no error code I described in the first post.

My car shows the door open, but only dings about 1 out of every 10 times I get out of the car.

Are you turning the car off after you open the door, or before?

It may be that a window or moonroof is still opens and the ding is alerting you to this fact

If the window or moonroof were open, it would show up on the Multi-Information display and in the phone app. It doesn't.

When you turn off your vehicle, are you completely shutting down and not in aux mode? Also key battery low warning ever came on?

Im pretty sure its normal and only under certain conditions which I cant be bothered trying to figure out. If a window is open you'll get the ding and a yellow hazard warning in the cluster. This is just the ding with nothing else.

I can certainly see how you might say this is too trivial for you to spend any time trying to figure it out. However, it will continue to nag me until I figure it out.

I can't see how this could possibly be "normal." It's either a defective false alarm or there's something that it's trying to tell the driver.

Let us know what you come up with but dont lose much sleep over it. Your warranty has plenty of time left so if there's really a problem, you'll figure it out long before expiration.
