Default Dashcam LEDs

Hi all,
I just installed a BlackVue 2 channel dashcam on my new ES300H. While going through the setup procedure, I noticed that I have the option to turn off and on various LEDs (indicating status for WiFi, recording, etc) As I see it, there are two viewpoints on whether having these LEDs on is a good idea.

Option 1 - LEDs on: You will instantly know the status of your dashcam. Anyone thinking of vandalizing your car will think twice if they see the blinking LEDs and realize they are being recorded.

Option 2 - LEDs off: The dashcam is in “stealth” mode. Possible dashcam thieves will not see the dashcam as easily. Vandals will not be as careful about hiding their identity.

I would love to hear owner opinions about which option is better. Thanks in advance for your comments.

I keep that led status on during driving or while car is on. When the car is parked I have the led status off so no one can see the camera, beneficial so nobody tries to steal it at my work garage.

Just out of curiosity, how did you make the power connection? I just installed a 2 channel (750DRS-2), and used the Blackvue Power Magic EZ, which plugs straight into the OBD port. It certainly was easy to install, but I was never able to get the parking mode switch to function as "on or off", either position had no effect on operation. I thought the 12.5V power portion of the switch was working perfectly, until I came out to a battery too low to start the car. Charged the battery back up, and it did the same thing again. DashCamStore said the PowerMagic EZ was defective, (apparently they knew they had a bad batch) and they send a new one. It arrived Monday, but I still haven't got it installed, maybe this weekend.

Option 1 - thieves see blinking LED's, don't care if camera recording, break into car and steal dashcam.
Option 2 - Dashcam in stealth mode, thieves see dashcam, break into car and steal dashcam and anything else of value...

Hi. The installation was performed by a local car audio/alarm company. They used the Blackvue Power Magic Pro to power the camera. In fact, they recommended against the Power Magic EZ because they have had trouble with OBD accessories.

I currently have this and have yet to encounter an issue. Works perfectly, although I plan to go the hard wire route, for later use when I do plan on using the OBD port.
