Default Trims.

Did they get rid of a few trims?

I don't see Espresso With Bird's Eye Maple, when I go to the Lexus website and play with the exterior and interior colors.

Or can you still custom order them?

I don't like any trims with "Linear" in them.

Are there less trim options now?

I think what you on the web is what you get.

Is there a site which shows good, clear picture of interior trims?

I think Espresso With Bird's Eye Maple is gone.

But I see Linear Dark Mocha; and Linear Espresso.

I'm trying to see exactly how those two look, and also compare them with the older Espresso With Bird's Eye Maple.

Thank you.

So, here's what I can find, to compare them. Still wish there were better pictures, but it's the best I can find.

* Espresso With Bird's Eye Maple (Generation 6 trim):

* Linear Dark Mocha:

* Linear Espresso Wedgewood:

Those are the trims, linear trims are more modern, birds eye and burl wood trims are kind of old fashioned.

I guess that I must be old fashioned.

When I bought my 2017 ES, I really wanted one with the bird's eye wood, but, at that time, all of the UL ES that Lexus was shipping with the interior and exterior colors that I wanted had the linear dark mocha wood. So, I accepted that wood even though it wasn't my first choice.

I do have to say that, over the two + years that I've had the car, I've come to really like the linear dark mocha, but I still like the bird's eye maple in my GX, and I also really liked it in two previously owned Lexus vehicles.

Lots of things I still like are old fashioned LOL. You should see me try and find a pair of pleated pants.

You can't fault them for offering what's in fashion though, they put a lot of thought and focus groups into what they offer.

I thought you custom ordered your 2017? If so, could you have requested the Bird's Eye?

No, I bought my 2017 ES in November of 2016 from the dealer's inventory. My car came from one of the first shipments of the 2017s.
