Default Macadamia Interior Question?

I just purchased a 25 ES 350 UL 2 weeks ago. Is the center Console leather or false leather? I tend to rest my right elbow on this and want to protect it and keep it from splitting. This happened on my 14 Avalon Limited. Is the best thing to treat it with the chemical guys sprayable leather or another product. I do not want to get a cover unless I have to. Thank you

I also just got a 2025 ES350 UL 2 weeks ago. Iridium exterior with Macadamia trim. I asked AI, and it indicates that it is Real Leather.

AI Overview
+7Yes, the armrest in the 2025 Lexus ES 350 Ultra Luxury is upholstered in
real leather, specifically quilted and perforated semi-aniline leather.
The Ultra Luxury package includes this higher quality leather interior trim, along with other luxurious features. While synthetic leather, called NuLuxe, is an option on other ES 350 trims, the Ultra Luxury uses genuine leather.
Yes, the 2025 Lexus ES 350 Ultra Luxury comes with real leather for the armrests. The interior features include quilted and perforated semi-aniline leather. This is a high-quality type of real leather used for the seats and other interior trim pieces.
In contrast, other trims of the ES 350 may use NuLuxe, which is a synthetic leather material. NuLuxe is designed to resemble real leather but is more environmentally friendly and easier to maintain. However, the Ultra Luxury trim specifically features genuine semi-aniline leather.

I use a plush microfiber towel on the console. I fold it over twice so there is sufficient padding to protect the console. Problem solved

I am guessing that only the perforated stuff is leather. I have a Luxury trim and only the central portions of the seatbacks and bottoms are perforated. The Luxury trim list on the window sticker says the seats and steering wheel are "leather-trimmed." I suppose the perforations are functional in combination with the heated and cooled seats. I am very fond of the cooled seats on a hot day.

Looking at pictures of a 2025 ES300h UL in the local dealer's website, it does not look like the console covering is perforated. The window sticker seat description is the same as my Luxury seat description. There is nothing to suggest that the armrests are leather and they are visibly not quilted, so AI may have it wrong.

"Semi-Aniline Leather-Trimmed Heated and Ventilated Front Seats with Driver's Seat Memory"

Here is what they say about the seat leather: "Semi-Aniline Perforated Leather-Trimmed Interior. Dyed all the way through, unlike leathers with conventional surface dyes. To produce the semi-aniline trim, a higher grade of leather must be used, since imperfections cannot be hidden."

We seem to have had this thread several times lately.

The entire seat face (the bottom cushion and back, and the bolsters) are leather in the leather equipped cars, the so-called “seating surfaces” in industry speak, a normal practice for decades. The headrest, back and side pieces are NuLuxe. The perforated areas in the UL are a different kind of leather, semi-aniline, which is why, being a higher grade, they feel softer. So, no it’s not just the perforated area that is leather.

Luxury and UL has leather seats, but all parts.
Both of them has NuLuxe on doors, dash and center armrest.

That's a good thing because the Nuluxe is basically indestructible. I would have opted for it in our RX as well but it wasn't available in the trim my wife wanted.

Well, that's good to hear. Although I did see one thread here in the last couple months, where a guy had been resting his arm on the Door arm rest and the Nulux material looked as wrinkled as the arm of a 110 year old lady. As shown in his picture.

Yep that's a defect for sure. My ES FSport with all Nuluxe is seven years old and the interior still looks new. You can't compare the wear genuine leather will experience vs the fake stuff. Apples and oranges.

So, you're saying that Genuine Leather won't wear as good as Nuluxe? I believe my Lexus models back in the 90s and up until 2007 all had real leather throughout. And all of my Genesis had real leather on all surfaces. And I have never had a problem with these leather surfaces.

Well, that's good news. It looks good enough. My fear was that it would not wear as good as leather.

@Cut-Throat -- Here's the thread you're referring to:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es-...her-issue.html

I thought that thread's OP did a great job in getting the arm fixed and I like that they went with black -- IMO I think the outcome looks/looked better than the original.

It did look good ! ---- I have always gone with the Black Interior in my cars for the last 30 years to hide stains...... But I thought I would try Macadamia this time, as the Carpets were black.... I hope I don't regret it, but we are very careful and take care of our cars.
