Question Rear jack point?

Greetings,

I need to jack the rear of my car up in order to put jack stands under the rear pinch welds. I read the owner's manual and can easily find the jack point in the front but am having a problem locating this in the rear. It looks like there is a big plastic cover, and I don't see a clear/solid point to jack it up.

Does anyone have any clear pictures or advice?

Thank you!

The front floor jack lift point is very easy to locate, you can't miss it.
The rear floor jack left point is below. It looks off center to me though. (thanks to this video: youtube.com/watch?v=eVcsTlXoIZA)

Please always use Jack Stands, do not just use floor jack only.
Do not lift your car if you don't know what are you doing. If you are only 99.99% sure, not 100%, of what you are doing, please do not lift your car and bring it to Lexus or a professional.
Don't kill yourself or damage your Lexus.

Thank you so much for this! This is exactly what I was looking for. It's amazing to me how far back that jack point is. Thank you for the warning by the way. That is very important. Again, I really appreciate your help with this!

Yeah, it's pretty deep inside. Get yourself a low-profile floor jack, it will slide in and lift the rear, allowing you to place jack stands on both sides.

If you can't use the floor jack on the rear jack point but still want to use jack stands, you could try this theoretically:

WARNING: This is very dangerous. Do NOT attempt it unless you're absolutely sure of what you're doing. Even the slightest mistake could be risky. Stay safe!

- If possible, position the jack stand right under the designated jack point. If the jack stand is too tall, get it ready and place it as close as possible so you can slide it in later.
- Place the scissor jack right next to it and start lifting the car using the scissor jack.
- As soon as there's enough clearance, slide the jack stand into position and slowly lower the car onto it.

I have not had a problem getting a jack under the ES but on other cars that are lower, I typically will use a second jack (scissor or small hydaulic) at the pinch point to raise the car slightly. Raise it just enough to get a proper sized hydraulic under the car and line it up to the jack point. Then I raise the car off the ground with the jack now at the main jack point. Once the car is up I remove the smaller jack at the pinch weld and use a jack stand.

The slightly tricky part with this procedure is getting the car back down. To bring the car back down you need to have good control of the main jack pressure release valve mechanism. First you raise the car to remove the jack stand then you can lower the car but only enough so that you are able to slide the previously used smaller hydraulic jack (or scissors jack) back under the pinch weld. Once the smaller jack is once again at the pinch weld you can lower the main jack and slide it out from under the car. After that lower the jack at the pinch weld and remove it. This all sounds a bit complicated but it is rather intuitive once you try it out.

That makes sense. Thanks!

That makes sense. I'm super cautious, so if my jack won't fit, I'll likely just buy a low profile one that will fit. While I will be using jack stands at the pinch welds, I would like the flexibility to lower the car onto ramps as opposed to using jack stands as well.

You can also drive the rear of the car onto a couple sections of 2x8 to lift the car a bit to get the jack under.
