Has any 2025 ES owner here install a blendmount on their rear view mirror? Would you know what the part number is for a 2025 ES? Also, did you tap into the rear view mirror for power for your radar detector?

Mirror Mount & Tapping
Be very careful tapping into the connection at the rear view mirror.

I accidentally shorted something during the tapping and everything linked to that camera was disabled.

Lexus Service had to diagnose & fix. Took them a while to figure out what was the issue. They had to change an in-line fuse somewhere under the kick panel area to make everything good again.

I did not use a Blendmount but another eBay Mount.

That was going to be my next question. How do you tap into this mirror for power? I’ll wait until the weather gets warmer and I’ll take the mirror apart and use my multimeter to see what connectors can I tap into so I can draw 12V. I installed a Blendmount in my Corvette and it’s rock solid. Very well made.

i used to fan of blendmount but try sdsaczmu radar detector mount. they aren't model specific but looks very nice. all my cars had blendmount to this date. waste of money if you ask me.

btw my escort Ka band stopped working. i didnt know that was a possibility. if i'm on a long road trip, i usu run two detectors just in case -- escort and valentine. i heard good things about the r8 too. what do you use?

I used the following generic part to mount my R7:
Amazon Amazon

The mirror brace has a plastic cover so you have to be careful with anything that grips into that.

I do tapped into the overhead accessory-on power without issues, but don't' remember exactly which connector/cable. I'll try to pry open in the weekend to take a picture and post it.

I use Escort Redline 360c. It works well on Ka band especially here in Florida.. Have you checked your radar settings on the Escort Ka? Are you using segmentation or do you have all segments turned on?

i didn't know you can change settings other than auto highway low k etc. i tried log on using app but it doesnt have many mode change options. i use 360c. I'm pretty sure Ka stopped working after i did update. got a fat ticket. what do you mean by segmentation?

Escort allows you to break up the entire Ka band into 8 equal segments. You can turn on only the segments you want to. All states have favorite radars their LEOs like to use. When you use fewer segments it speeds up the signal processing within the radar detector which allows the radar detector to be much more responsive in detecting radars. If I were you I would download the latest firmware from Escort. I would then download from the app store the Escort Live app. I just use this app to make settings changes in my Escort 360c.It’s faster than making setting changes manually using the radar detector. I would also recommend you use segmentation and turn on 4 or 5 Ka bands most commonly used in your area. This is documented in your radar detector manual.

I have the R7 and use the provided suction cup mount placed on the left side of mirror by the dotted area on the windshield. Felt like it was more discreet there and doesn't block your view as much as right under the mirror.

Been a while since I installed it but I think I used this video to do the tap.

I think I used the same video as a reference. Will try to confirm tapping during the weekend.

A couple of months ago I removed the bracket mount and installed the R7 suction cup precisely because of that. Also with the mount the radar position make pressing the home link buttons somewhat difficult as it was too close.

Unfortunately I was unable to find online a "reliable/definitive wiring diagram" of what pins to tap. I was using a multimeter, probing the available pins.

I felt the Blendmount was way too overpriced and went with a good seller on eBay. The first unit I got snapped as I probably tightened one side a lot more than the other while on the mirror stork. The seller sent me a second one at no charge.

The Blendmount is expensive no doubt about this but to me it is worth every penny it's that good. They use anodized aviation grade aluminum on all their support elements and their machine work is high precision. Their units are bullet proof. It is good enough to become a family heirloom.
