Its common issue on our cars for the rear view mirror glass to spider crack. I have been searching for a used mirror but there so pricey around $200 for used. I know theres companies that can swap out the lens and I think they charge $140 but still pricey for a mirror.
Has anybody tried mounting a mirror from a ES? Im finding the ES mirrors are cheaper, I also read from the IS guys they would run Kia rear view mirrors and just depin and swap connectors. From my understanding the same company that makes lexus mirrors, kia uses on there top trim cars.
I am also in the same boat with my 06 430. I haven’t been able to bring myself to paying the $140 to have the glass repaired. I did just start going down the rabbit hole of a digital rearview mirror and hardwiring to the fuse box. Yes, a more expensive solution but at least i feel like I’m getting more value out of it. Following your thread to see where it goes.
@Bastrd6 managed to install an RC mirror. From what I understood it took a little doing, but looks very clean. I ordered mine from a junkyard, a little over $100

Ya, I ran into that option in my search. It def looks much cleaner having rimless.
I installed a Gentex WZLHL4 from another Lexus. I didn’t want to lose the hidden compass or Homelink. Everything works like factory, and the auto dimming side mirrors feature is retained. I believe the 2010-2011 GS came with this mirror standard. I made my own harness adapter using the the old wiring harness and the wiring pigtail that came with the Gentex mirror. Or you can use this Lexus part that’s plug and play (87844-53020). The additional exposed wire in my pics are for my dash cam.

yeah I was gonna say that looks exactly like the mirror in my 2010 GS.

!*VERIFY THE WIRING AND PINOUTS USING THE APPROPRIATE ELECTRICAL WIRING DIAGRAM FOR YOUR APPLICATION*! YOU CAN POTENTIALLY DAMAGE THE MIRROR OR OTHER COMPONENTS FEEDING 12V INTO EC+ or EC-
EC is the dimmer, it uses a low voltage signal from the door mirror ecu’s
My car is a 2008 GS460
Mirror was originally a Tokai Rika TR0402
lexus part number 87810-30340
You will need to cut the wiring harness off the Tokai mirror and splice it into the new mirror
Donor mirror is from a 2016 IS200T
!*FIND A MIRROR WITH THE PLUG AND WIRES STILL ATTACHED*! (pins 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 should be populated)
Mirror is a GENTEX WZLHL4
Lexus part number 87810-0WJ80
It utilizes 5 pins that have the same labels as the GS460; +B, E, IG, EC+, and EC-
The mirror can be found in:
Lexus IS 200t LUXURY - 2016
Lexus IS 250 LUXURY - 2014, 2015
Lexus IS 350 LUXURY - 2014, 2015, 2016
Lexus IS 350 LUXURY F Sport - 2014, 2015, 2016
*Things to keep in mind
Pay VERY CLOSE attention to the plug diagram, make sure you understand which side (male/female) of the connector your looking at, and the orientation of the view
PIN NUMBERS MATTER! Wire colors may not always match up.
Again, pay attention to what your looking at, the only colors represented on the wiring diagram are those on the body harness
For example, the colors of the wires going into the Tokai mirror itself are not shown on the diagram
Splicing Order:
Tokai to Gentex
Pin#1 to Pin#6
Pin#2 to Pin#1
Pin#3 to Pin#4
Pin#4 to Pin#5
Pin#5 to Pin#2
W5 in diagram - this is the view of female side, the 5 pin Tokai plug pictured below plugs into it
You sir are a legend! Thank you so much for putting this all together. Gentex pinout/wiring is all proprietary and it's next to impossible to find this information out.
Helped me as I had these exact part numbers.
