Default 7ES google sheet for maintenance?

Okay, so I’ve got a fairly new 7es, and am going to try hard to follow a well documented maintenance scheme. Just coming up on that first 5k service now. So I was thinking I’d put together a nice google sheet for it. Something that makes it easy to keep updated.

Then I realized that everyone here is probably as care focused as I am, so I thought I’d ask here first - has anyone already made a nice google sheet for maintaining your 7ES? If this was something we made together and shared it would help us all watch out for issues that come up.

I did not make any sheet, I put notes on Lexus drivers.

I like your idea.

Overkill imo. There's not much to maintain especially first 50k miles or so. Oil, air filter every 25k, cabin filter Fall and Spring, tires and brakes whenever they wear out. I use the TRIP B ODO to remind me for oil changes every 5k or so. But if you love spreadsheets, knock yourself out.

I totally agree that it could be overkill. I'm just in a place in my life where I have zero bandwidth for remembering - let alone anticipating - **** that needs to get done. Also I put on 20k miles per year in my commute, so these things come up often enough. I am also intending to track tires, brakes, trans fluid, etc. I want to think zero about the car except updating the spreadsheet.

If ESh doesn't have a sheet, nobody needs one

Basically every-time your car hit 5K miles you should do "something"

Oil change every 5K (or 7.5K) miles or 12 month, whichever comes first (apply to all below)
Tire rotation every oil change
Tire balance every 2 oil change
Cabin air filter every 12 months (or every 6 months if live in a dusty/pollen heavy area)
Engine air filter every 12 months
Wiper blade refills every 12 months (if you still have the factory installed wiper blade), if not replace wiper blade every 12-18 months
Brake fluid change every 3 years or every 30K miles
Coolant fluid change every 5 years or 100K miles, after the first one, change it every 2.5 years or 50K miles
Spark plugs at 80K or 100K miles
Battery every 5 years or if it is bad
Transmission fluid every 65K o 80K miles

Anything else, replace when it wore out or broke

For me, anything that isn't every 5k is something that I will eventually forget. Should I do the transmission fluid? Brake fluid? My dealer is close but they push unnecessary service. I want a way to remember for sure, and I dont want to put effort into remembering beyond what is necessary.

Why do you get your tires rebalanced every 10K miles? How much does that cost?

Also, shouldn’t we be doing drain and fills every 40K to 60K miles?

For smoother ride and even wear => maximum life for your set of tires... My last OEM Michelin F-sport set lasted 60K, lot of people replace it at 25K saying it was trash...
You can drain and fills the tran. fluid every 60K, or 60k to 80k won't be much different. Lexus recommend you not to touch it at all though...

Frankly, it seems to me that if you use a dealership for scheduled maintenance as outlined in the owners manual all you have to do is remember the service interval, which you can set in the car to pop up a service reminder for you. No list to make and the dealer will take care of what needs to be checked, replaced, filled, etc. If you're worried about what was done you can compare the invoice from the dealer with the list of recommendations in the owners manual. The rest, to me at least, seems like needless work for yourself.

Don’t like to see myself paying for a well compensated and highly trained mechanic to check my floor mats or to see if my door hinges need a drop of oil. Some of those things are a bit much and can be done myself, so I go “ala carte,” so to speak, and have done what my mechanic and I deem indispensable, like changing oil and filter religiously, brake fluid every few years, rotating tires etc.
Has always worked well for me but everyone has his own system.

The Lexus website has this information at each 6 month / 5,000 mile interval here.

yeah, because they are so honest and respectful, they’d never get you more service than you need!

also I prefer 5k oil changes and not 10k, **** the manual.

Here was my personal regimen or planned one for my hybrid or ICE vehicle:

Oil change - 5k
Cabin filter - 10k or annual
Transaxle - 30k
Air filter - 10k or annual
Battery filter - 10k or annual
engine coolant - 60k/5 yr
plugs 120k 5 yr
inverter coolant 120k 5 yr

350 add belts, plugs at more aggressive intervals, trans fluid and filter 60k, brakes as often as needed (clean and lubricate annually), coolant 60k

The Car Care Nut (who is a Toyota Master Mechanic) says to change the oil every 5k or 6 months whichever comes first. If you do that your engine will last for a good 200k-300k easily. He shows on his channel cars that followed the 10K Toyota recommendation and the engines are shot and need to be replaced. If you plan on keeping your car a few hundred thousand miles, keep up on the 5k oil changes.

My daughter bought a new Rav4 hybrid, and I told her to change the oil at her 5k checkup. she called 3 dealers looking for an appointment and EVERY ONE told her that her car didn't need the oil change.

When did dealerships stop wanting to take your money? I don't get it!

I think Lexus Corporate fears word getting around to less informed car shoppers that Lexus encourages 5,000 mi. changes, which many consider “high maintenance.” So they discourage the development of that image to stay competitive with new purchasers.
I get mine done by my mechanic friend for $30-$35 for Mobil One oil and filter at Walmart and $20 for him to change it out. At that price, doing it every 5k-6k miles is cheap preventive maintenance.
