Well that is a new one about the dealerships but could it have something to do with availability? My dealer’s service area is jammed whenever I’m there, and for a while now it’s been a nationwide problem for dealerships to get enough mechanics. So perhaps they’re just at capacity and want to drop the little jobs? Just a theory, I could be wrong.

Do your first oil change at 600, 800, or at latest 1,000 miles. Then 5k after that. Especially on hybrid which experiences frequent stops and starts.

I just called my dealership in Pittsburgh. Have to wait a month for a routine appointment. Kidded the nice lady that these Lexus cars must require a lot of repairs and maintenance! She said they can’t get enough people to work anymore. Just like Wendy’s, I guess.
