My entertainment system (2023 ES with 12" screen) gave me a notification of a software update available yesterday. Has anyone received this? Do you normally just let these install?
Removing radio seems like a bad idea in a region like mine susceptible to tornadoes…
EDIT: I installed the update and restarted car, twice, and both AM and FM still work in my ES300h. So not sure what the note in the screenshot is talking about.
I did a brief trip through the menus and didn’t notice any differences. I don’t use the Lexus navigation or voice recognition so can’t speak to those. Sadly the audio Sound Tuning section seems the same as before, and there’s still no persistent memory of previous state of menus. In other words you still have to drill down from the main settings page to make adjustments.
Also the ambient lighting is still annoyingly dim but I assume that’s not part of the infotainment.
Some manufacturers, most recently Ford, I believe, had announced that they will discontinue AM radio in the near future Toyota/Lexus was still described as not having made a decision yet, so I doubt they would do this now or in this way,

Hybrid radio is an addition to normal radio, adding the ability to connect back to the station with an internet connection for multimedia and interactivity. I don't know that it was implemented much.

Yeah wow, I just learned that late last night. Interesting feature.
I was just going to post the same question. I got the message on Thursday. I almost let it do it right then, but it is my wife's car and was afraid to mess something up that she might use. She doesn't use hybrid radio (I had also never heard of it), so I think we are safe.
