Default ES 350's 0-60 times

I know the ES isn't a sports sedan nor a fast car by any means but its quite underrated imo.

Here's a short of my 2014 ES350 ULK pkg with 18's doing a quick 0-90. I time it around 5.50 secs (0-60 portion) using a stopwatch. Its funny too because a GS 350 F sport is rated around that time.

So with all that being said the ES moves itself quite well for a 3600+ lb sedan for only being rated at 268 hp out of the 2GRFE

You should probably check your stop watch. I timed it in the video and it was 11.43 seconds. And since the 0-60 time is about 5.9 for a 2013 and 5.8 for a 15' that would be about right.

I assume the 11.43 refers to the 0-90?
Using a app on my phone I still get a average of 5.5ish seconds based on that video for the 0-60 portion. Which site did you get those 0-60 times off of?

Thanks,

Thanks,
Your post reads as doing 0-90 in 5.5 seconds. Thought maybe the stopwatch wasn't calibrated.

The specs for the 2018 ES350 say the 0-60 time is 7.1 seconds.

http://www.lexus.com/models/ES/specifications

Did it really drop that much from the 5.8 the 2015 was rated?

Throughout the 6 years of the Generation 6 ES, the Lexus estimate for 0-60 times has been around 7 seconds, but the times from other independent testers have been about a second faster.

The last ES350 that Car and Driver tested was 5.9 0-60, it was a 2013 model. The last ES300h was 7.8 seconds and it was a 2017.

Default 0-60 time

The real test will happen at the dragstrip everything else is hype. Time slips don't lie.

I had no idea they timed 0 to 60 runs at a drag strip. Even if they did, It would be pretty funny seeing an ES at one.

That would be an interesting sight. Maybe if someone made a wrong turn on to the strip?

The Lexus official time was way too long of an estimate. Car and Driver got (with a '15, which was mechanically unchanged from the '14) 5.8 seconds. My ES350 is quicker than my Mercedes-Benz C300 4MATIC, which I know is between 6.1 seconds and 5.75 seconds (depending on the source — Mercedes-Benz official, C/D official, Alex on Autos, etc). The issue with my Lexus was that the stock Bridgestone tires were such garbage that I could never even have half-throttle acceleration — and could never, ever have more than 1/4 acceleration if I wasn't going perfectly straight (basically, I had to drive like an old man or the tires would just spin well into 2nd gear — very difficult when trying to accelerate quickly for normal driving purposes, including on to another road). I put Michelin CrossClimate+ tires on it, and it's so much better now. Performs and handles a lot better, dry and wet, cold and hot. And performs a lot better in the snow. Those tires are amazing. But that produced a noticeable difference in acceleration because I could actually apply the wheel torque to the ground and accelerate...
