Default Window tint

greetings fellas!
about to get my windows tinted with some ceramic tint next Monday. Car already looks like it's got a little of a smoke tint but I'd like to get the ceramic to cut down on the heat transfer. Any of u guys have this done yet?

Default My window tint.

Yep, I had the max legal degree of darkness on my ES350 done by "Z-Tint" and they did a great job. Entire car except windshield about $550.

California sucks though with the front only allowing 70%
i think that my window is already at that from the factory smoke tint or however you call it. At least I'll have the ceramic heat transfer blocking benefit. I might go with 50% as others have said the cops don't mess with u too bad as long as it's not to dark or mirror window finish

This is a bit off topic, but what kind of ceramic tint are you looking at? If you are looking at high end films, you may want to look into 3m Chrystalline. The heat rejection is amazing and I can literally enjoy the cabin with the windows up with the AC off when the outside temp is in the mid 70s. The film is very effective.

I had my '16 ES tinted last week with LLumar CTX ceramic at 30% all the way around, except front. Can't say enough about how satisfied I am with heat rejection, and the look. 30% is legal in Arkansas.

What color interior do you have? A black interior will make the tint appear darker than a light colored one. I'm in Calif. and I still went with 50% 3M with a black interior. I'm very happy with the look and the heat reduction is great. I didn't want a lighter front window versus the back as I don't like the look. At 50% other drivers can still see you, where you're looking and any hand jesters you might make, good or bad. I hate cars tinted so dark you can't see the driver, where they're looking or gauge their intentions.

Completely agree on all points. We installed a different brand, but also a 50% tint. Very pleased with it.

I actually had the same considerations about tint vs. interior color. Mine is parchment, and by others opinions i could go darker tint than with a black interior; they were correct. You can still see muted details of the interior through 30% tint, and recognize facial features, but not the individual (unless you knew them).
