Default Trunk Won't Open

I checked my spare today and now the trunk won't open with either of the three buttons. I can reach through the pass-through with a long handle grabber and open it. I don't see any sensors I could have disturbed.

Hope somebody knows what to do about this.

Thanks.

There is a button inside the glove box, near the upper left corner. It is a switch that disables the other trunk opener switches...When pushed in, the various trunk switches work. When out, they don't. When you turn this switch 'off', and then lock the glove box, is is supposed to prevent a valet from getting into your trunk.

(This is explained on page 148 of the owners manual, which you can read after you get the book out of the trunk ;-)

There is also a mechanical lock on the trunk, and on the glove box. You can always open the trunk using the mechanical key. The mechanical key is part of the fob, and detaches using a button on the side of the fob. (When you disable the trunk buttons, you are supposed to use the key to lock your glove box, then keep the brass key and give only the electronic part of the fob to the valet.)

Default Problem Solved!!!

That's what it was, A little button on the left side when the glove box is open - says trunk right on it. I also checked the cabin filter today so that's how it happened.

Thank you very much SLH.
