I sat in a new es350 today - cerulean blue w/ beige interior. I think the doors are very plain looking and dash is not as ergonomic as the older models. Why are there so many button place holders where the park assist on/off switch is? it really makes the interior look cheap. I did not get to drive it or turn on the ignition.
I think black might be a better color, and while the seats are gorgeous I think the rest of the interior is a bit plain and not really as nice as the previous model. Am I alone in this opinion?
OTOH the GS350 interior with similar design themes looks much, much better. A bit too big for my tastes though.
The perfect car would be the ES350 with GS350 interior

Actually the ES is bigger than the GS...
I agree with the doors being plain looking, overall theres a sizable reduction in plastic quality too IMHO. I disagree about the dash design though, I think thats a big improvement over the previous car.

Lexus removed features for usa market and just leave us with ugly button covers.
here's what we are missing compared to a loaded ES300h in Taiwan

IMHO Lexus should have used button design from the GS, one control module for each trim/pkg so there is almost no ugly dummy button.

I prefer bamboo. It adds to the hybrid Eco-theme and the light color contrasts nicely with the dark dash, even with the 2-tone parchment dash

I think the dash design is a Very Big improvement over the previous one.
I would buy that wood console overlay if it becomes available in Bamboo..
