10-12 Window Switch Chrome Trim Replacement (Photo DIY)
I had a very common issue with the 2010-2012 chrome trim peeling on the trim around the window switches and in addition I accidentally added some more scratches while taking the door panel off. I've also been noticing some Lexus parts I've been searching for have become discontinued, so I decided to tackle this before the inevitable happens.
I took photos along the way to help anyone who's interested in doing this themselves. The kit was very high quality and a perfect fit. It even came with replacement felt-tape and the black button surround. Found the kit on Amazon for almost 60% less than the dealer, so I was a little skeptical whether it would be real or counterfeit but it turned out to be the real deal!
Tools:
plastic trim tool or a flat head with electrical tape.
Phillips #2 or a JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) #2 screwdriver. I recommend the JIS for better grip on the screws
For reference:
74236-33020 - Front driver side (mine)
74235-33020 - Front passenger side
74276-33030 - Rear driver side
74275-33030 - Rear passenger side
If you don't have plastic trim tools, wrap some electrical tape around a flat head screw driver to aid with removing the switch assembly Original trim The peeling and scratches I made Replacement kit Kit contents include the chrome trim, the black button surround, and black felt tape. Remove the 3 PH2/JIS2 screws for the window switch Switch removed Peel back this small felt tape to expose two screws Remove 10 screw holding the wood trim Peel off the long strip of tape to separate the wood trim from the chrome piece Transfer everything over in reverser order Apply a new strip of tape in two spots Make sure the small piece covers the screw as before another angle before and after
I replaced mine a couple of years ago. Now the chrome trim by the glovebox release button is peeling. Any idea what the part number for that might be? The wood is fine by the chrome glove box release button and the chrome strip around said wood pannel is peeling.

If it’s the chrome/wood trim that runs across the top of the glove box door, I can’t find that part separately. Your best bet is finding a used glove box and transplanting the trim or the glovebox door as Lexus sells the trim with the door included. If you need just the chrome button, that’s available separately.

Hi, Just wondering if you have the part number for the chrome button of the glove box, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.
