I refused to believe that the window trim cannot be repaired. Shelling out $500 for $25 worth of metal is out of the question. Hopefully this will work. Here's what I did:

I started by taking the door panel apart:
I also read somewhere to be careful with the plastic tabs, I used a long screwdriver to separate, which was the only tricky part of the uninstall:
Fast Forward a few steps:
I chose to rivet the sheet metal pieces back onto the frame:
Test Fit with Rubber Gasket looks good.
Then I sanded down the paint to where the plastic tabs that pop into door frame so I can attach them with some JB weld.
Just waiting for them to dry to remount on the car, Hope it works
Do you plan to do anything with the rivet heads ? My trim didnt fail in the same way yours did. Mine actually snapped at the corner. I was thinking about tig welding it and hammer and dolly and some plastic filler....who knows

Since the JB weld can be sanded, I could possibly fill in space around the rivets. Sand it down and paint, I'm most likely just going to paint them black and leave them as they are.
That's similar to what I did, except I was lazier and just did one screw at the top, and some outdoor grade double sided tape to hold everything together.

Sorry about the delay. There wasn't really a DIY. I just fixed my problem, but, I do see I didn't write it very well. I can work on that the next couple days. Basically, the track that the rubber weather strip sits in is just pressed between the frame and the aluminum rail piece. The rivets simply but the two pieces back together to allow the gasket to stay in place. And the GOOP, (i forget the name) held the original tabs in position to clip back onto the door.
how do you take off the door panel and isnt there a lot of screw on the window trim?
I went to Lexus and they gave me a print out of the door panel and the location of the screws. The dr side door has 3 on the bottom, the bump stop on the left has one, behind the courtesy light and the window switches. Take a trip to the dealer and check them out.

Get to it asap, not just for wind noise but also to prevent damage to your motor. The mis-alignment causes excess stress on the motor, coil and the plastic hardware used in the window regulator assembly. I had to modify all new window regulators because of one stupid plastic piece.
