Default Changed Battery Have power, wont start, turn over

Just replaced the battery for the third time in 12 years. Was pretty cold here and it just died. After replacement, car doesn't start or turn over. Dash lights up, get green start signal, radio, windows, door locks work perfectly. Any suggestions?

Just changed the battery on my 08 for the first time. Wouldn't start but got all the dash lights etc.

Are you sure the new battery is fully charged? Are the terminals properly tightened?

Yes, went back and checked positive, removed negative and placed back on terminal. Prior to replacement, cleaned and sanded all parts.

Is the new battery fully charged? How old is the new battery (there should be a date code on it)?

Guy who sold me battery said it was charged and ready. Manufactured in 12/2017. Intertstate Battery.
What I don't understand is I'm not getting a hint of the starter turning over. No clicks. before it died, it clicked.
Should I try to jump it?

So I grabbed my cables and a friend came over with a meter. Car has been sitting for 90 minutes.
Hit the button and the car fired up like a champ. I looked like a chump.
Cost me two beers and a Partagas.
Thanks, everyone, will repost if the problem persists.

Problems just don't fix themselves.

Never happen. There is a cause and effect for everything and although something has changed to believe it is fixed is naive. I wish him well.

sometimes there are gremlins that just pop up.
Hopfully he doesn't have that gremlin come back again. if it does it does and then the OP will have to deal with it.
Perhaps there is a fuse that was loose i had this issue
the OP hey check your under hood fuse box is it loose at all i had this issue with some of the fuses where loose it was due to an accident a year erlier the shop never tightened it and repaired it properly but it took over a year for the issue to pop the insurance company did a inspection saw that that was the only thing that could be wrong and repaired it.
so the fact is gremlins pop up smething could be wrong but might not even be noticed for a long time.

This has certainly been covered before, but when changing the battery you can save yourself some issues/problems, and various resets etc. by supplying approx.12 volts to the battery terminal cable clamps (ensuring correct polarity, and NOT allowing the disconnected positive clamp/cable to contact ground or otherwise cause a short) before disconnecting the cables. You can obviously use the engine as the ground instead of the cable clamp (probably better). After connecting and tightening the cable clamps to the replacement battery the 12 volt supply can be disconnected. The car "won't know" that the battery was even changed or disconnected.

True that, neat trick Most people wouldn't think of it, or don't have a trickle charger or portable booster...
