just recently traded by 2007 es350 with ml to move to a 2011 es350 with ml. After driving for a few weeks now I noticed the ML system in the 2011 does not sound as good as my 2007. I'm guessing the tweeters and midrange are probably blown or damaged as the higher frequencies just doesn't sound good. It not REALLY bad but enough that i notice. I've searched the forms but wondering if someone knows the speaker size and ohms for the ml system in the car and if the grilles on the top of the dash can be easily removed. I'm guessing I will have to go with aftermarket speakers as well as factory ML speakers are probably expensive.

 

I've tried in the past to remove the dash grills, it is very hard, even with the tutorial with the credit card trick, i manage to scratch the delicate rubber dash. The grill is very tight on the contoured rubber dash, you have a little play but inevitably, you have to ply out the grill and the leverage will indent the rubber. Becareful.
