Control Arm Bushing ($1700)?
One month ago I purchased an '07 ES350 with 92000 miles. I purchased it with out a PPI because I needed a car that day and everything seemed to be working well as far as I could tell. I took it to the dealership one week after purchasing and they informed me the front control arms bushings are becoming worn and should be replaced. The technician explained this is the reason my steering wheel vibrates at higher speeds. He said the high cost is largely because of the labor. Has anyone had to replace their bushings?
Other than the bushings all that needs replaced is the brake pads.

Dealerships typically charge higher shop rates and mark up the parts more than your local mechanic. If you know one who is good, they should be able to do the job for you at a better price.

Even if that is what you need, last place to bring your 10 years old car to dealer to fix that LCA for $1700. Any other trusted placed would do it for less or even better, just search and buy the part that you want to replace (OEM vs aftermarket) and check with craigslist for someone to help you replace those for much less. In my case, a bit vibration at higher speed on freeway, i replace those cheapy Front Sway Bar link and problem is gone.
