Currently own a 2015 Audi A3. I caught the Dave Ramsey bug and want to sell off my car to reduce my debt. I've found several 2007 ES 350s right around 10K with around 100,000 miles on it. They actually have more technology in them than my Audi... Haha
But would you guys say that if I buy a 2007 Lexus ES 350 clean car fax one owner right at 100,000 it will be a reliable vehicle even past 200,000 miles. I hear great things but I just want some affirmation from people who know first hand. Should I pull the trigger?

You just need to check 3 thinks: does it flare when it shifts from 3 to 4 when the engine is cold, in what condition is the water pump and if you buy it you will need to change the VVT oil line which is around 30 bucks.

Same comment here. You can check to see if there are any maintenance records on the lexus website and the vvt oil line is an important one. Water pump replacement is a little over $800 at a Toyota dealer which is about the same cost to change the timing belt and water pump on a similar vehicle (this one has a timing chain). I'm still on the original plugs at 132k miles. Crash safety on this vehicle is awesome too. I got nailed by a tractor trailer at highway speeds from behind and walked away from it.

What is the flare? What would it "feel" like, and does it mean the tranny is failing? Thanks

FWIW, I never buy the 1st model year of any car. Have found it much better to get one win its mid-life cycle. Bugs have been worked

I agree. I had an '07 ES350 and it was a good car. Then I bought a '10 ES350 (refresh year) and it was even better overall.Originally Posted by jimmy2x
