Unhappy Having some transmisaion problems please help!

Ive been facing some transmission issues such as the clutch. first my reverse would complete not work and act as it was in neutral and after a while it started working again and just yesturday i experienced that now when i put it in drive it either drives for a few minutes driving normal ablut 45 mph at 2000-2500 rpm and the car would randomly go to 4500rpm and stall than when id rev to 5000 rpm it would shake and slap into gear and get moving but stall.... im thinking i need a new tranny, any comments as to what it may be? possibly the clutch needs some adjusting or something is out of place in the clutch inside the transmission? idk what to do please help.

Some automatic transmissions have what could be described as clutch packs but your car doesn't have a clutch like a manual transmission.

Get your car to a shop and let them troubleshoot it. There are several clutches in the transmission but the problem may not be caused by the actual clutch/s themselves but could be a control (electrical/electronic) issue. The root cause may be one of a whole bunch of possible problems. When you post always include the year and mileage of the vehicle.

It sounded like, from the way the question was worded, they were under the impression that the car has A friction-style clutch that can be adjusted or singularly fail in some manner, like in a traditional manual transmission...There is a lock-up clutch in the torque converter and other various functional "clutches" between gears but I would be surprised if any of these alone were to blame for whatever is happening to the car.

I agree - take it to a good shop for a diagnosis. The home mechanic can do very little with an automatic transmission.
