Default Water Leak 07 E350 Glass Roof Panels

bought my wife a nice 07 ES350, I think its a UL model but not sure, it has 82000 on the clock but looks and drives as well as the ES350 I test drove, same year, no nav etc but only 19800 on the clock. Question on the glass roof panels we have a leak...I do not know if it is actually the panel of the roof or not. the water will drip on your left foot its not a huge amount but a leak none the less. I was wondering of the leak is common w this car?
FYI the dealer is going to fix it I would just like to know, if possible, why this would be happening.

So I have read some more on this issue and I have seen the posts were the plastic seal is coming up and apprently drying out, although these folks are not having any water leakage into the car. My plastic trim and all the ruber seals around the sliding panel look and fill like new yet I have a small water leak over my left foot while driving in rain. When I climb under the dash with a bright light I see no evidence of entry. all insulation and carpet is dry, no water trails I can detect. I also checked around the windshield and all looks good. Back up on the roof with the panel open there is a thin layer of dust/dirt all around the opening but there is not one water trail to be seen...I just do not know what to make of this?

Tonight I will park the car outside to see if it leaks sitting still and update my findings.

Any thoughts on this would be apprciated! After years of hearing from my dad how great Toyotas are I buy one that appears to be everything he said...it's a beautiful car and drives and performs like a champ... except this leak.

I have a 08 UL and i do have a leak that drips on the driver headliner vanity light. It only happens if i parked my car nose down in an angle, It is no biggie and dealer cannot solved it.

What i have tried first before going to the dealer is to see if the draining hoses are ok, i use a 60ml syringue fill with water and pour it on each side, catch the water from each corner panel, all are draining well so rule out the draining lines.

If you try to locate the leak, isolate each area with the syringe test.

I do remember having ONE time a drip on the driver pedals, my conclusion is when i spray a large amount of water on the windshield, water drain down the firewall and find a way in (possibly on my case the firewall rubber seal that i poke to feed my audio wires),it runs down the audio lines and drip from gravity.

Thanks for the information Blushark.

So I did figure out how the drains work...at least I am 98% sure. If anyone has better information on this please let me know.

I looked through AllData and Lexus Repair Manuals and discovered that the standard sunroof and the glass roof or panoramic sunroof of the UL Models are different in the way they drain off rain water. The standard sunroof uses drains at the four corners
