Default Interesting restart

I've been down for the last 4 weeks due to a knee replacement so I've not driven or started the ES for 5 weeks. Well this morning I am able to drive so as I started the car to go to my rehab the nav. screen lite up with a picture of a hard drive and a note saying loading data please do not turn off car. This is the 1st time I ever saw this but it loaded up and then the normal nav screen came up. Blue tooth hooked up and car was ready to go. I just thought this was interesting . 2010 with 11,000 miles on it. FYI

That is interesting - we'll see if anyone else has had this happen.

And glad you are getting better.

jag...the problem is you need to get that Lexus on the rd more often...I know you have other toys to play with but get him out more. I have March 2010 have around 33-34k mi.
Good luck on knee rehab !

I wonder if this just has to do with the Nav unit being in a "low power standby" when the car is driven regularly, and switches to a "no power - off" mode when in standby for so long? Just sounds like it needed to load back up off the drive, where in normal situations (24-48 hours between driving) it still has it's information in RAM.

Note: I don't have a nav equipped ES.

Yeah some days it's difficult to determine which vehicle to take. I usually drive the 08 GMC pick up in the winter as it already has 21K miles on it. I'm also considering holding the ES down to 15K miles and trading in for the 2013 body change. We'll see. Needless to say i can't get in or out of the Ferrari so I'll need to work the rehab until I can do that. Life is a challenge.

No but I would assume or guess it was the Nav. CD . No other info was available.

A little follow up info . After the data note came up I didn't think anything of the features of the car. Also it was only me that was driving the car until yesterday. As we were out I found out that the 3 windows would not operate. Only the drivers window would work so I suspect there is an issue with the CPU program. I contacted the dealer and they will pick up the car this week. I'll keep you posted on what is found. I did check the battery and all of the window fuses/relays and all is well there. I suspect a programming issue if I tie it back to the data message. We'll see.

Default Window Lock Switch

The inability to operate the three passenger windows could be caused by the window "Lock Switch" being in the ON position. The switch is located in the driver's door just ahead of the door lock switches. This feature is mention on page 42 of my owner's manual (2007 edition)

OK thanks I checked it and the fuses and relays but I'll go verify it again. Could be I turned it off and didn't turn it back on. We'll see but it will be interesting to see why the "data loading " message came up.

Quick update. The dealer returned my car and told me the harddrive reboots when the car is not run for a long period of time. Mine was about 5 maybe 6 weeks. Also the window lock switch was stuck in the lock position which they fixed. They checked the software and verified all was OK. By the way they gave me a 2011 GS350 as a loner car. It was fun for a day but it is a little tighter inside and rides a lot stiffer. Nice car but not what I'm looking for.

Ditto the 2011 GS report. Liked the car a lot but too tight. Reminds me of when you compare sitting in a 1967 Corvette coupe and then go into a 1984+ Corvette.
