Default custom grill

I made my own mesh grill today, it only cost about $40 for the thin aluminum mesh on ebay, and about an hour of my time

I tried to keep everything in tacked so if i wanted to put the factory insert back in I could, the only thing I had to cut on the chrome perimiter was two slide tabs, but I checked and it wont affect the fit on the bumper

and thats it all done, I havent decided if I should put a lexus emblem on the grill or not. Anyways just wanted to see peoples thoughts on this whole thing.

Wow a cheap ghetto ricer. I assume you got the thumpin woofer in the trunk. I must admit the good thing is that nobody will steal those wheels. I guess you can get a hint that I'm not a fan of pimp my ride. Hey then again all you got to do is please yourself.

It's not exactly my favorite but it's not nearly as ghetto/ricer as most modded cars.

Not bad for a DIY project. Needs an emblem of some sort - the opening is way too big and empty looking IMHO.

And for the real nice custom look - you gotta ace that front plate/bracket.

Yeah yeah, it might not be legal, but it's the price to pay if you want to pull off the look you're after.

In the very least I would put some slightly tinted cover over the plate.

wow, how did you know i had 5 woofers in the trunk, 3 tvs mounted on the frame rails and some fuzzy dice? You must live next door, and for the wheels I got 5 different kind of wheel locks too so nobody will steal them. But hey, I'm pleased

I was thinking about putting the spelled out lexus emblem in the lower left corner of the opening, and im looking to get a motorized front hideaway plate bracket

Well, that certainly was a constructive addition to this thread.

i think it looks good, its different and he's obviously younger and wants to make it look like his own.

as for putting the lexus writting in there, i'm not sure if that would look good.

maybe just chop appart the grill you took off so that only the middle horizontal bar is left and holding the emblem? black out the bar? I think i might try that actually, it would open up the front a bit...

cool, post pics when u have the final result... you will have to do a bit of body work on it though seeing as horizontal strips 2 and 4 touch the center logo.
