Navigation on 2007 ES350
Hi there -
I was hoping someone could help me out with the Navigation system on my CPO 2007 ES350. This is my fourth lexus, but my first with NAV.
Basically, my questions are:
1) I have no idea how old the version I have is. When use the MAP DVD Info section of the NAV, it reads Data: ver.06.1 - is that old or new. Assuming its old (which I assume it is) is it worth the upgrade? If so, to what version would you guys recommend I upgrade? I did some reasearch and found out that the 2011 version is coming out in September - but its $200 - OUCH! Is there any alternative you guys would recommend?
2) The NAV not functioning while the car is in motion is a MASSIVE issue for me - what a royal pain. I did some research and found that this is a big deal for quite a few users. Is there any way out of this? Anything that can be done to fix that? I did find that many have opted to cut some cable / physically alter the unit - I would really prefer to not have to do that. Is that the only option?
3) Do you guys find the navigation to be accurate? I was trying to search for my home and it couldnt find it - also couldn't find my office - says the house number doesn't exist on that street. Is that normal?
4) Last, is there any way to make that annoying "I agree" Screen go away?
Sorry for the long post, but ANY help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
David

3) Does your street show up on the map, but when you enter the address as a destination it doesn't find it? If so, try putting the city name in first followed by the street number and name. That helped mine find some addresses. Also make sure it is in the correct Region.
4) Version 7 (and I assume later versions) the warning screen it still there but it goes away on it's own, the "I agree" is gone.

David,
1. Check the Lexus dealer in Miami. They usually discount upgrades. I took a copy of their price for an upgrade to my dealer and my dealer sold it to me at the same low price. Usually with a dealer will meet the competition.
2. If you burn yourself a hybrid disk (5.1/9.1 or 10.1 next Fall) you'll be able to use the NAV system while driving.
3. I find it accurate. Your house number problem is probably because of OLD or incomplete maps. If you send me a PRIVATE message with your street address, city, and state I'll enter into my NAV system (Version 9.1 NAV maps in a 2007 ES350) and tell you if the NAV system found your house.
4. NO, not that I know of!
