I think I'm going to just skip the purchase...not a good financial move after looking at everything...but a private owner sale would indeed be the best way to go....

I'd seriously consider a private sale to minimize loss on the old car if I was doing this upgrade. Also, have CarMax give you a quote. Even if you don't sell it to them, the quote can give you leverage with the dealer.
You are on it... see my comments above...I wanted to get some feedback on the 2010 vs. 2009...The only big plus I see is the Nav system...and it's certainly not worth anything more than what is listed as a MF option...

Did they have the shave done first? If they don't like it then they can request a new pedal..I guess it should be the same one that is on the 2010. I don't know whether this is a dealer 'specific'...option or not...but for kicks and grins and I may tell my dealer I want new one see what happens....

Thanks...I'm going to wait longer than that...because technology changes too fast...it's always going to be something 'new and improved'...

The pedal was shaved on my 2010 before I bought the car. It doesn't look bad at all, and as you said earlier I can live with it too. If I think of it, sometime when the car is in for service or something, I may see about getting a new one if available.

Thanks...I was never ready to sign anything, b/c truth be told, look wise I lean a wee bit toward the 07-09. I'm good for now, the 07-09 or 2010, you can't go wrong either way, although the 2010 Nav+ other features is a step in the right direction..

Everyone,

Thanks for all of the great comments, this site is the best. I really like my 2009 ES and will not be trading it up for a 2010, the 2010 has many features that make it a compelling choice over it's competitors, but the differences between the 2010 and 07-09 is not enough to make me trade in my 09, although experiencing the new Nav system was really cool. I'm sure Lexus will give us much more in the future, how about a 60 GB HD??

I will post some pics of my pedal shave, the dealer removed some padding under the carpet and replaced it with a thinner pad, I can't notice the difference, the s/w brake override seemed to give the car more power, but I'm sure this is just my imagination....

Ask them to install a new pedal and see what happens.
