I'm curious to what everyone is getting on avg/mi/ gal on their ES350 and more specifically with 2010 version . i recently purchased '10' model and dash display is reading in the 22--22.5 avg mi / gal.....I would have thought it would have been better than that especially from some of the comments in recent months posted here. In car quite a bit during day and do both highway/ city driving. Yesterday it was about 80 % hwy --1 hr ea way and still was only displaying at 22.5, 22.6. Havent really ran #s by filling up tank etc going off what display reads. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
My long term average is 24.6 mpg after 5,000 miles of mixed highway and city. I have a lead foot and floor it sometimes just for fun, jack rabbit starts, high speed acceleration on onramps etc. 93 octane and Mobil 1.
Got our 07 in late Oct.09. Avg. normally per fill up around the 22-22.5 mpg range. That's strictly local driving, slower, stop/go. Only trips have been from Delaware to Atlantic City where i make my occasionaly contribution to the cause.
On those trips 32-33mpg. avg. with some local driving and a few stop/go on route there/back.
Haven't had a real good long distance trip where all highway between fill-ups. so would expect perhaps up to 35 mpg?
Previous car 03 Acura TL got 34 on long distance trip to Rhode Island from DE.
Actually in both cars run strictly on Regular 87 octane. In fact Lexus dealership in De. only recommends Regular and that's all they use for new/cpo cars. Why pay more when you don't need it. Performance is fine.
Try resetting the mileage to zero by holding the display button down until the average mileage disappears from the box in the center of the instrument cluster. The total mileage number will also soon reflect the new setting.
I also got 31 mpg @ 70 mph, using 91 octane gas with my Michelin Primacy tires inflated cold @ 34 psi. I have a 2010 es 350 with 4000 miles on the car.

lextooth...question for you ? ; but first the feedback makes me feel betterthat avg seems to be in line with others and I'm sure as car gets newness out of it mileage will improve....would consider myself on heavy foot more than not but like all new things been handling with extra care and not driving hard so of course was expecting miracles. On gas I use 89 octane ( used 89 for 6 yrs on prev es330 ) and will cont....
serv mgr mentioned that I will get slightly better gas performance & engine results but also mentioned that it wasnt neccessary on veh. . As in past seems to be a preference to ea individual . Tires he said to keep @ 34-35 psi even though manual says 32 said will get better tire wear @ this level so will follow his lead for now.
lexfoot I'm curious how you're driving with Primacy tires being car so new. I had/bought Michelin Primacy on my 330 and really was very pleased with them....very good tire imo.. Was wondering if you footed the bill and went replaced them right away or were able to get them from dealership at purchase. I have the OEM -Michelin made sure wasn't getting Bridgestone ( they come both ways ) he was willing to change but not needed. Ok as always good insight more comfortable with mileage after feedback thanks again to all .
p.s. again I mentioned this before any es300/330 owners looking to make upgrade and financially can go 2010 I wouldn't hesitate I can list many great changes but one is the pick up from start position or acceleration needed quickly is night & day compared to my prev es330. Lexus believer !

I arranged with a local tire dealer to install the H rated Primacy tires for $300 exchange.
The cost included free tire rotation for the life of the tires and intial mounting and balanciing.
As far as gas mileage is concerned, probably the higest gas mileage will be with 91-93 without ethanol and the least mileage will be with 89 with ethanol. Taking in consideration the cost of these choices, the cost range would be 15-20% from the lowest 89 octane with ethanol to 91-93 octane without ethanol, depending on your region in the US. Also, the gas mileage will vary 15-20% from low to high. It could be a trade off on mileage vs increase in gas cost and improved. The number of pure non- ethanol gas stations is limited in the US. Your call!
lextooth, don't even go there with the whole non-ethanol gas topic. It is rediculous that we subsidize corn and then when commodity prices go thru the roof gas prices go up because of stupid additives that reduce the effectiveness of what they're being added to. Ethanol is a waste. You just had to go there didn't you.
Agreed.
Ethanol is a total waste and only involves politics. There are much better ways to reduce our oil imports, lowering CO2 and achieve increased fuel mileage by using new technology - not more agricultural lobbyists.
I never had less than 25 mpg tank average.
My overall average in the last 5-6kmi is 27.3 mpg. That's about what daily commute to work would usually average per tank too.
Tank extremes were from 25.5 (in snowy weather) to just over 30 (with a lot of highway driving).
All numbers are from the trip computer and probably 1-2 mpg overrated.
Just got back from a 6 week trip from NY State to Florida.
Down and back was 2300 miles. Trunk and back seat loaded to the hilt.
Put on 1800 more miles while in FL. This was about 50/50 highway/city for a total of 4100 miles. Used nothing but 87 octane (10% ethanol).
Mileage came to 30.1 for the entire trip. That was figured with pencil and paper. The dash board read higher by one to two miles.
