Does anyone have any pictures of their ES350 (or like) with 20" rims? I went to have the windows tinted ('08 ES350) and got talked into purchasing 20" Gionelle Rims! Yes, I'm a sucker but I'm really wondering what these will look like. I told them I was a relatively conservative person with a high tech sales job and they promised that these rims would do the trick. Thoughts?
there are several members here that have 20" rims. You should check out cardomain.com, there are 20's there... even some 22's. Actually i believe the members who have 20" rims here have posted their cars on that website. The funny thing is though, with the big rim.. it still has a large wheel gap.. i believe this car would look perfect with 19's and a nice 1.5" drop...but that might just be me.
I appreciate the input and will check out the site immediately. Don't think I was this nervous before my first child was born. The work will be done on thurs and I've already prepared my "take them off" speech. I actually inquired about 19's and they really pushed the 20's. Couldn't tell if I'm just an easy sell or he really knew what would look good while preserving the "non-bling" attitude I have.
i understand where you are coming from... without a drop, the 19's may look on the small side (especially with a 30-35 series sidewall). I have heard of some rubbing issues with 20's though, moreso during high speeds or speed bumps, not a continuous rubbing. Too be honest, Im worried about losing the smooth ride, its so damn silky right now, i dont want to lose it, but the car begs to be modded out with rims and a drop. Good luck.. you have a link to your tires. Im debating whether to get a full face rims, mesh, or large 5-spoke rim.
doesnt look too bad... i like that the spoke reaches the full face of the rim. Should look pretty good. I have a black car, and I dont wanna bling it out either, so Im looking for either a black rim with chrome lip.. or a polished look. I would just be wary or curbing the rim, (chrome plus full face means be careful)
Yeah, I've already had the "grindin" discussion with the wife.. : ) Now that I said something I'll probably be the first to jump a curb at the ATM or fast food lane! Mine is Black Pearl which looks like a dark blue in the sunlight so I thought chrome would work. We'll see. Checking out the site. Wow, some people are very imaginative.
Bchi, you're car looks great! I think I feel a bit better having seen that the 20's look darn good. Smokey, the shop definitely maintained that the ride will not be compromised with a good set of tires. I went with Nitto Neogen's. Again, we'll see soon!! : ) I'll post a picture on Thursday.
well good luck, im sure it'll look excellent.. but please do me a favor, take not of the ride, riding normal city driving, potholes, speed bumps, even driveway bumps, and then compare when you get the new tires, I want fresh opinion on difference of ride quality. Ive heard/read differening opinions, some say almost the same, some say a lot different then before. Anyways, thanks for the input.. post em as soon as you got em.
Will do. I agree that the ES ride is sooo smooth and I definitely don't want to lose it. I, like you will notice a difference if there is one so I will definitely let you know. Thanks for the input.
So I got the 20" rims on today and I must say it totally changes the look of the vehicle. i think it looks great! The ride has changed a bit as I feel and hear the road a bit more. The sound may subside a bit when the tires break in but the car handles a bit better as well Overall I would definitely say it was worth doing.
