Default 2014 Lexus E350 Y-Pipe Replacement

Today I took my car into the shop thinking I just had an exhaust leak and it wouldn't hurt the wallet too much. Come to find out my Y pipe is apparently broken and would need the entire section replaced, including catalytic converter. I was quoted at almost $2k including parts and labor. Has anyone run into any similar issues or have cheaper workarounds?

Really hurts to spend $2k on just getting the exhaust repaired but it is something I will have to get done if there is no other option.

Thanks!

If the leak is just a crack in the pipe, a muffler shop may be able to weld it closed, but replacing the damaged part would be best for a long term repair.

Check website parts.lexus.com to see what retail prices for the parts are. Add labour.
