I'm curious to know if members who bought the ES300 have experienced issues with their hybrid batteries since gen 6 started back in 2013. Did any require replacement, and if so, under warranty or out of pocket. If they were paid for, how much was replacement cost?
I haven’t heard of any drive batteries failing in a 6th Gen ES. My sister-in-law’s Camry required a new battery at about 120K and nearly 11 years of age. It was a 2006 model so likely an older generation of both the batteries and the Toyota drivetrain in general. I have owned Toyota hybrids since 2006 and this is the only Toyota drive battery failure I’m aware of. The newer Lexus vehicles have longer warranties on the batteries, I believe it is ten years or 120K miles.
179k miles on my 2017 (Uber driver). No problems so far.
I clean the mesh filter by the rear driver side door jam about once a month by vacuuming it out. I think that's about the best maintenance you can do for the battery to help it stay cool. Heat is the enemy.
