00Hello, I got new tires from Costco with 5 TPMS sensors. I got TPMS light recently and rechecked tire pressures, they were in 30-31 PSI range at the Costco self service tire pressure station (recommended pressure listed at the car door is 30 PSI). The instruction at the station was to inflate tires 4 PSI above the recommended if tires were considered hot when tested, i.e. driven over several miles. I did 34 PSI and now the light is off but ride is slightly less comfortable, which pressure triggers TPMS sensors?

The 'trigger' is set when you reset the system, there is no preset value. See owners manual below...
Craig is spot on, after playing around with the Toyota Techstream (dealer software), I found the TPMS trigger is set to 20% below the current tire pressure value at the time of reset. I recommend purchasing a tire gauge such as this one to recheck your pressures when the tires are cold and set them to 32psi.
Analogue tire pressure gauges are generally used in track applications due to their better accuracy and repeatability, although, depending on how much one spends, one can get good and/or bad gauge of either ilk.
Generally, when my target pressure is 30 psi, I overfill by two pounds to 32. That way, when air naturally leaks out, the pressure is kept closer to the optimum before the next re-fill. ALWAYS CHECK COLD!
