Smile TPMS Programming

I was reading threads on Edmunds and es350 owners stated that they program the TPMS for 36psi if they want the tire pressure warning to go on at 30psi, which is their desired tire pressure setting. They stated that the reason for this is because the tire pressure warning system will not go on until the psi has dropped by 6 or more. (ex. TPMS set at 38psi if desired tire pressure is 32psi). Is this true?

Even though the manual states 30psi for all four tires, what do you set your tire pressure at and how do you program the TPMS? Can the owner set the TPMS psi or does it have to be performed by Lexus mechanics?

Thanks for everyone's advice in advance.

I want my TPMS to go off when the pressure gets below 30 psi but I run my tires at 32 psi. I do the following:

Pump all of them to 36 psi.
Reset the TPMS using the owners manual procedure.
Let out air until the pressure is 32 p[si.

TPMS should go off when I loose more than 2 lbs.

PS don't forget the spare.
